Gasol has reportedly agreed to a 3 year contract extension with the Lakers. LA is also moving closer to re-signing Kobe to a 3 year deal, a contract that would put Kobe at the $30 million a year mark. MJ is the only other player in league history to hit that number.

Props to Mitch and Jerry Buss for locking up the core of Kobe/Gasol/Odom/Bynum/Artest.

We may win the next 3 titles. Obviously no guarantee, but if healthy we look like the frontrunner for this year and the next 2-3.

It great to see the Lakers doing what it takes to keep the core of this team together.

I like this move. I'm glad they are keeping the team together.

It's common sense. They have assembled the best team, so why would they do anything to ruin it?

I wonder if in any way this affects Lebron? He has to understand that this makes the Lakers the best team in the NBA for at least the next few years unless the Cavs make some major moves or he can sign on with a better team.

A Nets team with a core of LeBron, John Wall and Lopez isn't bad.. and you could trade Harris for a solid big man..

Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

How is it known that the Nets are getting John Wall?

And don't the Nets already have a solid big man?

You fail at the NBA.

Calm down dude..

The Nets are going to finish with a god awful record, so bad that it will more than likely give them the #1 overall pick.

Lopez is a solid big guy, but not the guy I would want to bang with the other bigs.. he is more finesse. None of this matters though, it was a hypothetical situation.

Why would you tell me to calm down? lmao..

YOU WANT CALM I'LL SHOW YOU CALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, history proves worst record usually doesn't = #1 pick... Unless you're the Cavs.

Lopez is more than solid. He's going to be a 20 and 10 lock...

I just think the Nets might be SO bad that the entire lottery is just them haha.

Lopez is def. a keeper.. maybe ship out Harris for a PF or SG..

Im just sayin.

For the record.. again.. I don't think LeBron leaves.

IF the Nets get John Wall and have Harris and Lopez, I think they would still have the money to sign Lebron and another free agent (maybe Bosh), that makes them a legit threat to the Lakers and sets them up for the future.

BTW, it still drives me insane that the Cavs passed on Dejuan Blair to draft some bum who is still overseas. I don't know how that leads Lebron to thinking you are improving the team.
