I didn't think the Indians would win the division. I really thought this team would battle for 2nd. I didn't think it would be for 2nd LAST.

Go big or go home, lets just take last place outright and then boast the fact the indians held every spot in the AL Central.

Tribe battles back from a 4-0 deficit and with the help of some Twins defensive miscues, hold a tentative 7-5 lead going into the 9th.

Perez gives up a leadoff double, and then shuts the door. Tribe wins 7-6. Twins now lead the Tribe by 3 games in the battle for the worst record in the American League.

*Small sample size alert* I know it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference but I'm still not sure what took so long to bring Russ Canzler up. But hey, who needs a right handed bat to throw out there when you have a full arsenal of .230 hitting lefties.

I've been impressed with canzler. It's a small sample size but he was doing pretty well in aaa all year also

I think the point is...that we had a these options at AAA yet did nothing until mid August. it's not like we didn't know we had an offense problem(lack of a RH power stick) since last year. Still, we kept trotting out Shelly Duncan, Johnny Damon and Aaron Cunningham in LF until it was too late. Left field should be a big bat in the lineup.. Sometimes you can get away with a Mendoza line hitter if they are defensive stalwarts. But we already have too many of those playing in positions that should be providing offense too.( read Hannahan and Kotchman).

Tribe being shut out in the 8th....down 3-0. Tribe has only 4 hits. 2 by Choo, and 1 by Canzler and Hannahan. Zeke Carrera batting average...after a torrid "small sample" has dropped to .261....Kipnis struggling to keep above .250.

Canzler I believe has a hit in every game he's played in.

if one weren't talking about the fact that these are 2 of the worst teams in MLB, would have been a good series to watch. 4 relatively close games, etc. Twins take 3 of 4 to bring the Tribe within 1 game of the basement. confident we indeed will end up there to end the season, to at least make claim to the worst team in the american League. I'm afraid Houston and their futility makes them uncatchable as the worst team in baseball. we've got a chance to catch the Cubs if we can keep up this level of incompetence, but it'll be touch since we've let go of several of our "go to" guys: Lowe, Damon, duncan..etc. I'd have felt a lot better about our chances if they were all still on the roster.
Let's hope weeden and the Browns don't make us compare them to the Indians by the time football season is over--tho after a game it looks promising...

I got a call this morning from the Indians front office asking for feedback......on my experiences at the games I went to this year and then this guy started to tell me about all the great deals and offers they will have for the 2013 season etc. I told him I am moving out of town(which is true) and probably wont ever go to a game again!

I am not a season ticket holder, so i wonder how desperate they are getting for people to come to the games now.

I would prefer them take away the deals and start putting a decent team on the field. That is how you get people to go to the stadium.

Well it looks like the Tribe will finally reach the bottom of the standings after tonight. It's been a long time coming but we've made it!

yeah...my thoughts exactly. Fan Services does a great job....and they are going beyond the call of duty trying to keep season ticket holders from bolting. I seriously don't know if I will renew....and I've held them for over 20 years since back at the old stadium.:(

If this was a window of opportunity, somebody sure screwed up. I'm not a big fan of Manny Acta...but I suspect he did a pretty good job holding this group together as long as he did. I think you have to look at scouting/drafting...trades...and ownership as one big failure. The guys on the field are what they are. You have to look at who was responsible for putting this team together.

Cleveland could finish last in the division in all 3 sports this year. Basketball will be tough with Detroit.

The 4-9 hitters in the lineup tonight wouldn't even be a great AAA team.

In the category of the horse being dead....

Pomeranz ERA 4.80
White ERA 5.18

Hardly impressive indeed. But it was there first full season, both enduring early season injuries, and both of them got off to Rocky starts. See what I did there BRF?

The proven stud that we picked up that ultimately put us over the top has an ERA of five and a half dollars. I say....give the ball to Brandon Weedon and let's see what he can do.

They just have to play a little better. Just wait and see next year how these guys come out and shock the world.
