I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble receiving a signal with their dish? We just got it in October so this is the first snow with the Dish Network. If we are going to keep having this problem every time we get an inch or two of snow, I'm going to get rid of it.

Before anyone says it, I can't remove the snow from the dish because it's mounted almost as high as our two story house's roof. I don't have a way to reach it.

I have Dish Network and haven't lost signal because of snow and I had it when we had the real heavy snow in March 07. I do lose it for short periods during thunderstorms. I would call Dish and see if your dish is aligned right. It wasn't installed by Windstream was it? I have some friends who got Dish through a Windstream bundle and they had to have a Dish Technician re-align their Dish for them.

I have never lost the signal due to snow. Heavy cloud cover will cause a signal loss-maybe twice a year.

I woke up and got the message that the signal had been lost and it needed to search for satellites. After about 2 minutes, everything went back to working fine. This is the first snow in my new house. We had Dish last winter, but we were in an apartment, and the Dish was mounted on our deck so I was always able to go clean it off if necessary. No I have no way to get to the Dish without almost breaking my neck.

I can deal with a 2 minute signal search every once in a while...but if it starts happening often, or things start getting fuzzy, I'll start to look elsewhere.

I have directv now, but when I had dish the only time I lost a signal was during terrible storms and once when ice accumulated on the actual dish.

Parents have had Dish Network since 2005 and it's the same there. Need one hell of a storm or some serious ice.

There are a couple of people that I am close to that both have D.N. and they say it's nothing but trouble especially this time of year. Both are getting rid of it as soon as they can.

Had it for 3 years......haven't missed much of anything. I've had to knock snow off a few times for instant signal and if a big thunderstorm is coming it'll warn you 5 minutes before it gets there and will be out for a minute or two.

We had covering of the fluffy stuff on the Dish. Apparently, one of my brothers made a contraption to clean off the Dish so it's working now, but it is a hassle.
