I can't paste the link from my phone but Jennings from Milwaukee got fined $7,500 for tweeting about a win. Apparently the rule is you can't tweet during the game which is defined by 45 mins before and after a game.

The rule is clearly stated but I still think its dumb.

Yep, they have to wait till media availability is finished before they can begin their tweeting...

What if his message was something like "happy birthday mom!" and posted at the same time? Do you think he would still be fined?

Yes, because its policy. If one player didn't get fined, and another did, the players union would throw a big fit.

Silly rules.
