The TSA is nuts. Seriously...how much more will American take before we demand that this nonsense stop?

While normally I'm not a "attack the messenger" type of person, does evidence of this activity exist from someone who isn't a complete wackadoodle?

Unless the video is doctored and those aren't real TSA agents at CMH that appear to be testing water bottles and stuff bought at the magazine shop, what messenger is there to attack? I've never seen security do this at any airport, domestic or international. Is there a reason TSA suspects that liquids past security are a risk? Are we slipping explosives into the johns?queencitybuckeye;1261000 wrote:While normally I'm not a "attack the messenger" type of person, does evidence of this activity exist from someone who isn't a complete wackadoodle?

I can think of a hundred alternative explanations every bit as likely.

I can only think of one, TSA trying to justify its expansion and there's not enough real work to do.queencitybuckeye;1261003 wrote:I can think of a hundred alternative explanations every bit as likely.
Here's their blog (I love that its ran by Bob, reminds me of Baghdad Bob) - apparently this has been an issue for a couple of months:

My favorite comment is why the TSA hasn't respond to all of the criticism, with a close second why on earth anyone would think that a terrorist that could actually put an explosive in a post-security beverage would simply walk around with it rather than stuff it in their bag.

Is this the Voter fraud thread?queencitybuckeye;1261000 wrote:While normally I'm not a "attack the messenger" type of person, does evidence of this activity exist from someone who isn't a complete wackadoodle?

Well I don't consider myself the utmost in logical thought but isn't when voter fraud happens the issue is that it ISN'T caught, whereas when terrorists sneak an incendiary device the issue is that the results are evident?Devils Advocate;1261063 wrote:Is this the Voter fraud thread?
But that's ok, we don't need voter ID laws, just ID to get to the DNC convention.

The liquid restrictions are a joke, security theater at its best. Let's suppose that you could actually make a liquid explosive to take down a plane, what is to stop a terrorist from using the 1 gallon bag that you are supposed to have all your liquids in and putting them in 3 oz containers and then just mixing them all back together in a water bottle or something once past security? Has anyone ever seen the giant trash can full of liquids more than 3 oz right next to the security lines? If those are dangerous enough that you can't take them on the planes, why are they just tossed into the trash and not disposed of by the bomb squad? Buch of bullshit security theater, that's all.

Agreed 100%, it is just more make up work, BTW someone should tell those women in the video to go to the gym.tk421;1261263 wrote:The liquid restrictions are a joke, security theater at its best. Wonder what they would do if you'd just down the drink before they could test it.
