Pedro Alvarez takes a pitch on the low inside corner over the 410' sisgn in LCF with 2 outs in the 3rd for a 2 run HR to give the Pirates a 3-0 lead. Let's see if they can parlay that into a Cards loss, something they were unable to do last night.

To end the 2nd Josh Harrison was thrown out at home, Beltran to Molina, and there was a major collison, after which Molina left the game.

Yes with those two, and all those outs, they should get less ABs, so a better line-up would be Heisey 1, Hanigan 2, Stubbs 7, Cozaart 8.

Hanigans OBP is only 100 points higher than cozart and Stubbs. Why would dusty hit him ahead of them. It would make too much sense!!!!

Big game tonight with the cards getting mashed by Pitt. Also Molina hurt on a play at the plate.

Washington getting smashed as well. Could end tonight with a 7 game division lead and best record in baseball.

Which clearly means the Cards and Nats will rally and Reds will lose 6-4.

Am I the only one who hasn't thought Cueto has been that great lately. Lots of high pitch innings, not getting as many ground balls. Just not as dominate. Good, but not dominate.

Perfect example of what I was talking about in the last game thread occurs in the first inning. A double by the #3 hitter is completely wasted because Cozart and Stubbs can't get on base. Shits weak!

The only thing I'm praying for is that Stubbsy has an awful stretch for another week or 2 then finishes on fire into the playoffs. Everyone knows my affinity for Stubbs but even I am sick of his suckiness lately. It's very clear Dusty will play him everyday though unfortunately. At least he plays great defense, minus diving on short fly balls.

Rolen with a 15 pitch ab, reds load bases with no outs. Wild pitch scores toddfather and 2rbi single from hanigan makes it 3-1 reds!

Reds work the shit out of Miley in the 2nd, get runs. Come out in the 3rd, and Phillips and Ludwick both get out on first pitch swings, smdh. C'mon guys!!

Lol. Sad but true.
Also sad they had 0 outs and a man on third and didn't score him.

Hanigan and Frazier each have a single AB, that combined, account for all 5 runs scored so far(5). Both of these ABs came with no out, leaving still good opportunites to score, in one case because of a triple, and the other due to Cueto's sacrifice. In both cases these sutations were disappointingly squandered by Cozart and Stubbs, and then Rolen and Heisey. When are they going to learn to hit smart like the Cardinals? Don't hit those harmless fly balls out there trying to get an EBH, when a single or SF will do. Heisey had two hits tonight, but no RBI, and he failed miseably to get an RBI when he didn't even need a hit to get one, in his most important AB of the night, and the easiest opportunity of the night to get a run in.

Maybe I was a little too hard on Heisey, he had a key his with two on and no oiut to highly contribute to the Reds biggest inning of the game.

So now Chapman comes in with a 3 run lead and he does the worst imaginable in walking the lefty lead-off batter in the 9th.
