Going Festivals </SPAN>

I general stay away from County Fairs (not tattoos, leather pants and I shower daily) however I’m all in for Festivals and Community Street Events ..</SPAN>

I enjoy Ethnic Festival the food, culture, music and dance is always a good time .. plus traditional beer or wine is alway great.</SPAN>

What Festivals and Community Street events do you attend? </SPAN>

Usually it's events which have road races, like Troy strawberry festival or Minster Octoberfest.

Or this may count as an event, the St Paris community garage sale?

I try to go to the Shiloh Ox Roast and the Plymouth Fireman's Festival each year. Only made it to Plymouth this summer, but as always, it was a blast.

From the first week of June through the summer and into fall there is a festival pretty much every weekend within 20 min from home.

Maria Stein CountryFest.
Coldwater KofC picnic
Celina IC PIcnic
Celina Freedom Days
Celina Lake Fest
ST Henry picnic
Ft Rec Jubilee
Coldwter Community picnic
Rockford community days
Bremenfest
MinsterOkoberfest
Mercer County Ribfest
St Marys summerfest

Good, good times. Cold beer, free entertainment!

Cty fairs....eh. Boring as hell for the most part, and i hate paying to get in and have less fun than the free picnics

This was last weekend. Main St. closes often for all types of free festivals. Lots of locals go. They have just renovated the pier and opened Joe's Crab Shack over the ocean. During the summer, the boardwalk has fireworks every Sat night. Main St. or Beach St. have good block parties almost every month, even New Year's Eve is indoor/outdoor.

The best festival I've ever been to was Gumbo Ya Ya in the district of the Quad Cities, IL. Great times, I try to plan my trips back to Illinois around this time so I can attend.

I haven't been to a county fair since 2003. I don't miss them.

I think the last "festival" I went to was a street dance in some small town in South Dakota. They just close down Main Street, have the one or two local bars open their doors, bring in a beer trailer, have a band play, and everyone just chats.

I can't recall going to much else. Maybe in college, the town had Old Fashioned Christmas in December. They'd close Main Street, all the local shops would open their doors to serve cookies, cider, or some other treats, they'd blare Christmas music and everyone would hang out singing and chatting. I only went once or twice from 2004-2007.

For some reason I miss going to the Canfield Fair. One of these days I'll get back home during fair time.

I've worked that before and it gets busy as hell. Pretty nice little area though, or at least I thought so during the festival.
