The first hit of the game, a grounder by Cairo, do you think Frazier and/or Votto would have gotten to it?

Cueto with a very good quick play on the bunt by the P to get the FO at 3rd for the first out of the 3rd.

Cueto with a gift from the ump on the 2-0 pitch to DeJesus.

And another gift for the K looking on the 3-2 pitch to DeJesus!

Reds pitchers have a better percentage at getting runners in from 3rd with less than two out than the team avg. Let's see if Cueto can raise the margin!

Nope, but he gets a productive out on the bunt by getting Hanigan to 2B. Do you get a sacrifice if you only move up one of two runners?

Cueto tried everything he could to try to get to the Rizzo grounder with 1st and 3rd and 2 out, but he didn't touch it, and it worked out because it went right to Cozart for an inning ending 6-3 DP keeping the score at 3-0.

Hanigan shows the Reds how to correctly run the bases on a borderline blooper over 2nd.

Was that Latos that had the problem with that earlier in the week?

Cozart 0 for 4
Stubbs 0 for 4

Imagine if this team didn't rank LAST IN MLB in combined OBP from the 1-2 spots?

Ludwick...but he hits so we'll let it slide.

That was yesterday, but I was thinking there was a pitcher who got forced out at 2nd on a blooper to RF that fell in.

Latos on Wednesday vs the Brewers. Hard to fault him on that though.

Yeah...Heisey with a blooper and Latos was 15 feet from 1st.....a lot of players struggle with that. I had about 1/2 a practice with my high school girls and I'd hit a ball to RF or RCF in bloop area and had a line of players practicing how far they could get off on each play and still get back safely....had the outfielder throw it every time trying to get the out to show that hardly anyone was getting off far enough.

Yea, that was it. Latos got on to lead off the 7th with a walk, his 3rd time on for the day with the Reds leading 2-1. Then Heisey hits an 0-2 blooper that falls in, and gets forced at 2nd. Could have been 1st and 2nd with no out and the Reds could have added some insurance run(s) which may have prevented the disappointing loss in the end. I didn't see it, so I don't know how much better baserunning would have helped. But Latos could have always took the risk like Ludwick yesterday and gambled it would fall in, which may have been the better choice.

Yes, in softball the first base coaches are so worried that they will forget and go, they tell them to tag up, instead of getting off far enough that they can just get back if it is caught, and be that much ahead if it falls in. Another common mistake I've seen in softball, more than a couple times is when there is a runner on 3rd and less than 2 out, and the batter hits a line shot right at an outfielder, and the strong inclination is to head straight for home, and the coaches don't realize it quickly enough to yell to get them back and they lose the run because they can't get back to 3rd in time to make it home! I know that cost Marietta a loss in a tourney game in extra innings by not getting a run they should have gotten easily on that exact thing.

God, that 1-2 slider was just ridiculously unfair...
