I woke up late this morning, and I guess I was rushing to work, though I wasn't actively trying to speed. Got pulled over on I-77 by Rockside Road in Cleveland for going 88 in a 60. By far the worst ticket I've ever gotten, and the first one in over seven years. Don't get me wrong, I obviously broke the law and deserve the ticket, but a $450 ticket still just ruins your whole day.

Anyone else have a bad ticket story that just ruined your day?

No.

Don't get me wrong; it was 28 MPH over the limit, so I get it being pretty bad, but that seemed steep to me, too.

Oof, I drive by that exit twice a day and I know I am typically going 70-75, I honestly never knew it was only 60 through there.

I thought it was 65, but either way, I was well aware that 88 isn't an acceptable speed in either case.

I used to just set the cruise, but I bought a truck that didn't have cruise, so I got out of the habit of using it, so now that I have a care with cruise again, I haven't been using it.

Good time to start, I think.

What part of Cleveland do you work in? I actually get off at Rockside and work just a couple miles east of there.

I've only gotten one speeding ticket, 66 in a 55. I was a juvenile, so I had to go before a judge, write a paper, 30-day license suspension, and then sit in that class they made you take. It sucked.

I don't speed. You could all learn from people like me and respect the law.

I've never had a speeding ticket.

Pulled over doing 90+ in West Virginia on I-77 on one of the downhill stretches. I got a warning and was told to "keep it under 80."

I used to work in Cuy Hts right by the corner of Grant (couple exits N of Rockside) and E 71st.

Now I work over in Parma, so I go 480W to Tiedemann.

Got my first and only ticket last summer on one of the holiday weekends. I think it was 83 in a 65. The ticket was somewhere around $125.

I've hit 100 on those a couple of times. Luckily I've yet to even be pulled over in the 10 1/2 years that I've been licenced

I've had about 4 speeding tickets, the worst was $300ish if I remember correctly. 84 mph in a 60.

Out of all the speeding tickets I've received, I've got out of all of them. I just simply go to court, and I'm completely honest with them. I tell them the officers account is correct, that is what happened. I'm not denying I was speeding, because I was. It was my fault, but I'm trying to keep my record and insurance clean. I don't know if the honesty confuses and shocks them and they don't know what else to do or what. They have always dismissed the ticket and let me just pay the fine.

Cop must of been a prick not to drop it below 20 over.

Almost got 89 in a 65 - caught by a damn airplane when in college but it was dropped to 19 over by a nice hwy patrolman.

He was friendly and apologetic about keeping me from where I was going. One of those guys who it was actually tough to be mad at.

Few accidents but no speeding tickets in the past 15-20 years

Best one I talked my way out: 1971 GF now my wife going to Cedar Point for the weekend, route 18 just outside Wellington I&#8217;m doing 90 MPH in a 35 zone... Just got out of the Army (discharged) a week earlier, new 1971 Dodge Charger SE 383 30 day tags, no update driver license &#8230;&#8230;. Passed the cop going the other direction and he made a quick turn and can after me, I pulled over &#8230;. Long short shore &#8230; He was a vet also we serviced in the same division&#8230; 45 minute talk of old times and a warning to slow down&#8230;. It was a good day&#8230; </SPAN>

I got pulled over once for going 67 in a 55. The cop thought he had me at 67 in a 45, but I hadn't reached the sign yet. He "let me go" because I was moving and had a bunch of shit with me.
