Yes, still natural. Well drained, nice facility.

This is a flat out lie. The field is absolute trash. Potholes, spots of nothing but dust and dirt. If it rains good luck keeping your footing.

THIS X1000000000

Be lucky you're playing them in August. At least this way, it'll just be patchy green and dirt. Probably the worst playing surface in the NLL. Hell, Sylvania's stadium is 10x better and gets double the use because of the 2 high schools. I honestly can't think of another school in the league or even the area that has a worse field.

Bleachers are decent though; size wise. Visitor's Pressbox on that side is a death trap.

http://www.maumee.k12.oh.us/football/mhsfootball.htm There's a link that has nice arial view of the stadium. The visitors are on the left side; home on the right. Because of the angle, the stands look small, but they're not. One of the few places that has = Home and Visitor stands.

Scroll down to "Meet the Team" tab to get a better idea of the size of the stands.

Check out the link I posted. The front page of the website is an arial view of the stadium. The "Meet the Team" section has a nice pic of the visitor stands. If you scroll through the pictures section, you can see some pics of the stadium when they're in their purple uniforms. Like I said, be glad you're getting them Week 1 and not Week 4-5+

Look, I have been there 3 times over the course of the last 15 years, and have never noticed a problem with the field or the home stands. Compared to some of the fields I have seen and played on here in NE Ohio, they are not bad at all. I have never been on the visitor's side, and the question was about the surface, and not the stands. So go LOL yourself.

You must have been there in the early part of the season.

I'm there at least once every year, and the field is always terrible because it's sometime between weeks 4-9. After 1 raining Friday night, the turf is done for the year. I'm pretty sure they play soccer on it as well. I've just never seen it in good condition.

Our local field down here is the same way. You figure varsity, JV, and freshmen football, Boys and girls JV and Varsity soccer, I am surprised there is any grass left by week 5. I think they finally moved the 7th and 8th graders off, but we played in the stadium when I was in jr. high.

2 things:

1st the game will be played at Maumee, the visitor stands will be fixed in time for the Massilon game and everything is on as planned

2nd and most importantly the field is the best it has looked in several years this season. After the '10 football season the field went untouched until 2 weeks before the '11 season. Needless to say the AD at Maumee was a little upset with the grounds crew and a professional crew had to come in and try to make the field somewhat decent. So late in the year it didnt do much to help the field. So after the '11 football season the whole field was kept up with and sodded. This year the field is actually completely green (with grass) and should stay in good shape throughout the season unless it gets torn up on a muddy night, (similar to Maumee vs SV '09)

That's good to hear, but I've been around the NLL since the 2005 season and have seen Maumee at least once every year (by either the varsity or jv game against the team I'm with) and have never been too impressed by the field condition. Hopefully it works out, and the field stays put together.
