I read where they said there was a guarantee that they would NOT move. If they were to move again, I think the city of Cleveland would implode. Hell, maybe even the whole state, because that'd be a huge FUCK YOU.

+1. You can say a lot of things about Lerner, but you can't say he didn't care. If he only cared about making money, then tickets would not have been as cheap as they are. lol right, at one point lerner was paying butch davis, romeo crennel and eric mangini. this dude cared. i just hope the new owners don't suck ass and fire heckert.

I never said it was about money. Let's be honest though, he was routinely skipping Browns game to go to Europe to watch soccer and drink tea. Can you imagine any of the top owners doing that? yup...5-11, 5-11, and 4-12 the last three seasons. Another three years of progress like that and we'll be 2-14.

The new owner could spell the end of Heckert/ Holmgren as he will likely bring in his own people. I don't know if that is good or bad.

I would imagine that H/H would be kept until the end of the season. This will be the end of year 3, so I believe it would be fair to evaluate at that point if the team is headed in the right direction. Lerner is staying on as a minority owner with Haslam getting an option to buy him out at a later date.

Having a more hands on owner will be a good thing. I do think Randy Lerner tried, but he isn't a football guy. Haslam seems like a true fan/owner. I think the move is good for the browns.
