I am leaving for a last minute trip to the Savannah/Tybee Island on Saturday and will be there through Tuesday. We are staying in a house about 2 blocks from the beach. The only things I have on my must do list at this point is take a ghost tour in Savannah.
Any suggestions for things to see, places to go or where to eat? Any wineries in the area?

Cant go wrong with River Street. Plenty of resturants, bars, and riverboats. and there are more ghost tours than you can shake a stick at. and all with their unique tours, such as in the back of a hearse! plenty of historic stuff to look at. Old Fort Jackson is between Tybee and Savannah. depending on why you are there, you shouldnt run out of things to find and do in savannah.
Paula Dean's "Lady and Son's" is downtown if you can get a reseveration. Moon River Brewing Company is nice.
If you head down Rt 17 a few minutes towards Richmond Hill you can eat at Love's Seafood Restaurant where part of Forest Gump was filmed. His famous bench scenes were also filmed in downtown savannah.

I prefer Savannah over HHI...if you are looking for some little shops, Beaufort is a great place to stop. If you take a ghost tour...make sure its a drinking one!vball10set;1229843 wrote:Drive to HHI...hope this helps.

Tybee is a sleepy island. Night life is next to nothing. Very important. Georgia state law prohibits the sale of alcohol all day Sunday. Make sure you have provisions to make it to Monday.

Eat at the Pink House it's in Downtown Savannah. It is a little pricey but it is some damn good food.

I was just down there with the wife in May. Definitely do a tour, go to the cemeteries, and just walk around the old town. It's just beautiful. Tybee Island was interesting, but seemed to be rather lackluster. Get seafood down there. Several places. A little pricy. But very good.
