About 40 thousand per household. This should surprise nobody given the fact the the banking meltdown of 08 robbed hard working and saving Americans 39% of their overall wealth.

Even the great Manhatten Buckeye will have a tough time splainin how all that Hob ObamaCare they run up there hasn't stripped the Canucks of their wealth.

In the meantime, those that are responsible for robbing Americans of all that money remain at large...working at Bank of America and Citigroup et al.....protected by the financial lobby money to keep the public servants off their collectives asses.

They mentioned this on the Jay Leno show. "that's a good thing! That's another country we can borrow money off of".

gosh they live longer with a higher standard of living, more social mobility, less crime. I personally plan on staying in America but learning from the Canadians.

But I could see why there would be alot of snowbacks sneaking into Canada.

I like Canadians. My first boss was from British Columbia and I even dated a girl from Calgary for two years. They also know how to spell Canadian and Manhattan.

What's amazing is that our long term debt and deficit problems are entirely attributable to healthcare costs. If we had Canada's healthcare costs...and they have socialized medicine for all...we would have no long term debt or deficit problems. Yet, Republicans claim that socialized medicine would cost too much when it is cheaper every where in the world! Lulz.

We can surely have Canada's healthcare costs, and their quality (it sucks). Any Canadian with the means comes to the U.S. for anything other than a routine procedure.

Keep it up Boatshoes, you're getting near Footwedge credibility.

Blah Blah and yet you'll rail about the debt and deficit even though our healthcare costs are going to destroy our economy as a whole without regard to our government finances.

For one, it's total bullshit that the Canadian healthcare system "sucks." And, even if we accept that the U.S. healthcare delivery is better...it costs too damn much. Sure, 100 Aircraft Carriers are better than 50 but at some point they cost too damn much. The U.S. has the most bureacratic, red-tape filled healthcare system in the world but I get it your distaste for bullshit bureacracies only gets aroused when the bureaucrat hassling you gets his check from the U.S. treasury.

And, nevermind that the Canadian Government pays for much of the care Canadians get when they travel out of the country.

But I don't know...I suppose if you're a Canadian and you want a boob job it makes more since to fly to L.A. and get it yourself.

I was thinking more about chemotherapy, my former girlfriend's late father had to move from Calgary to Seattle to get treatment, but keep it up. You're very entertaining.

"but I get it your distaste for bull**** bureacracies only gets aroused when the bureaucrat hassling you gets his check from the U.S. treasury."

What other type of bureaucracy is there? Anyone else I can fire or not pay without regard to facing consequences like fines or jail.

BTW, language dude. Did I hit a nerve or something?

Some say it does, some say it doesn't. One thing is for sure, their Defense Budget isn't even a blip compared to their Southern neighbors that provide them with their socialist lifestyle....free of charge.

Our healthcare costs are only going to destroy our economy via obamacare --- when millions more get "free" healhtcare, from fewer doctors, resulting in higher prices that cannot be afforded by the few taxpayers left who are still paying for the many more getting health care for "free". Once again, government involvement will ruin an entire industry. Chang we can believe in .......

Govt involvement in healthcare occurred before obamacare. I am against obamacare but our system was broken prior to Obama. Insurance companies and the government have destroyed the patient/doctor relationship and simultaneously drove costs through the roof. So just to make it clear. Repealing obamacare will not cure our healthcare problem. We need a real solution and not just a return to the old way.

Precisely. It used to be, you could pay cash for anything "regular." Doctor visits and physicals were affordable out of pocket. Insurance was for Emergency Room visits or surgery. And you were seen quickly, with care that was as good as any country.

What we had immediately prior to the enactment of the AHA was not free market healthcare. In fact, it has gotten such that the act itself will change far less than many claim, because our system was already a mess.

I understand all that --- obamacare is a ruse. We need to eliminate government completely from the equation, and we need to re-examine the entire market. But it does all start with first repealing obamacare.

Definitely, I mean we already had it so that ERs couldn't turn people away so this is simply making it so that instead of going to the ER for a sore throat they'll go to a family doctor which should save time and money.

I'll gladly pay a little more for higher quality. I'm one of those weird people who likes being healthy and alive.

BTW, I also believe in the concept of self-government. Obviously not everything can be controlled or prevented, but if I do what I can to eat right, exercise, etc. I don't feel I should be lumped into the same government system as the person who eats nothing but fast food and drinks a gallon of soda every day.

Canada's population is like 35 million, or 9% of ours, plus they haven't had 4+ decades of the Great Society and Welfare state ruining their (smaller) inner cities. So the comparison isn't exactly apples to apples.

Canada has a higher rated healthcare system than we do. You're not paying for quality.
