I had a roadtrip to Fl fall through, so I was thinking of leaving early tomorrow morning and heading to NYC. Anyhow, I wanted to know what would be the best area to stay in...I don't want to deal with the NYC traffic so we would use public transportation to get around. I am trying to keep this trip reasonable, so I can't afford to stay in Manhattan.
Also, we will be doing all the touristy stuff since it is my kid's first trip there.

Try Jersey City or Hoboken in NJ..short train ride into the city, and they're really fun spots.
It's gonna be tough to do an affordable NYC trip though..which I'm sure you already know.

Look for hotels in Long Island City, Queens. There's a Holiday Inn and a newer place called Ravel Hotel.
The place appears dodgy, but its fine....just an industrial area. My parents always stay here and it's a very quick/easy subway to Midtown/Times Sq.

He didn't even go to NYC. So typical. Wastes everyone's time asking for help and then drives to SC instead.
