I think the Browns have a legitimate shot to have a 2 game winning streak...A few questions to think about though.

What are the keys for the game? What do the offense/defense need to do to win?

What would a win say for Mangini keeping his job? What would a loss mean?

What will a win or loss mean for Holmgren?

Just interested on your thoughts...

I don't really know who is going to win this game. I picked the Chiefs in my pick ems league but it should be close.

I hope we keep up the defensive pressure from last week. Matt Cassel takes a ton of sacks.

Well..I would say we don't have a chance..b/c they both beat the Steelers..but of course..the Browns did too..so that wouldn't work. They could win 2 of the 3..I don't want them to though.

Bowe will be back for the Chiefs..so they might try to get the passing game going. If the same defense shows up that played last week. We should win the next 2.

Mangini's up in the air..the wins or losses over the next 3 games don't matter IMO..the only thing that matters for Mangini and his job is Holmgren. And I think if the money is right..Holmgren will be here next year...although...I don't know what he'll do with Mangini.

I always hope the Browns win, but I wouldnt be disappointed in a loss. I REALLY want Suh, Berry or McClain on this team.

I think there is couple of keys to the game that if we do successfully we should win.

1. Defense gets pressure. If we can get pressure on Cassel, he will make mistakes and we could easily force turnovers.

2. Establish a running game. Easier said than done with this team. But use Cribbs at RB, and with Harrison and Jennings, we should be able to establish some kind of effective run game.

3. Offense plays mistake free. The offense has done a relatively good job the last couple of weeks on limiting turnovers and stupid penaltys.


I know those are pretty basic and essentially any team can win with that formula. But despite that, it is certainly possible to achieve those keys and win the game.

I think if Mangini wins 1 more game this season he will be safe for next season.

I hope they win out. I am so tried of losing. We have been terrible for most of the last decade, with numerous top 5 draft picks. Where has it gotten us?

5-11 with a 4 game winning streak going into next year would make a big difference in the attitude during the offseason. It also might help attract some free agents who otherwise might not come here. A 5-11 team on the rise is much more attractive than a 2-14 team that lost 3 straight to end the season.

Agreed, I would love to see them win out. But I'm not convinced a 5-11 will attract many FA's though. FA's aren't as big in football as they are in basketball. Don't get me wrong, they certainly can help, but the way to turn into a winner is through the draft. We need to start having our first rounders actually pan out. Besides our two lineman, we really haven't had a decent first round pick.

might be a good game to watch, I wonder if J Lewis reconsiders retirement if Mangini leaves and Holmgren comes (not that the Browns would be interested)

DT is not really a position we're in need of. I'd definitely would rather have a LB like Mclaine or a S like Berry.

Hesston, the Browns won't take back Lewis. He has been done for quite some time this season.

Also, it would be good for the Browns to win a couple games and not have to pay top pick money for none QB/RB/WR/OL positions. The Browns will still be able to get their cornerstone S or LB.

It seems like the entire Browns' fan base on this site agrees that we need to draft LB/S/CB....Think the Browns Front Office will be thinking the same thing?

I think we need an passionate, vocal leader to be the face of the defense. I think there are plenty of options to pick up one of those in the draft.

Sadly I can see Kansas City falling in this one.

Even without the game against Pittsburgh, I would consider this game a winnable game. Now hopefully the Browns look like they did against the Steelers/Chargers games, and not the Lions or Ravens games

As for this game, I want the Browns to WIN every game. I don't care about draft position, because worrying about drafting higher is for losers. I don't want to continue being a loser.

The key would seem to be CONSISTENCY. We've seen the Browns (on one side of the ball or other) have a decent game one week, only to suck the next and vice versa.

If they can bring defensive pressure like last week and force some turnovers, the game should be winnable.

Oh and as for J. Lewis: the best thing that could have happened to the Browns is for him to take a seat. Now, I didn't want him to be hurt, but he needed to be OUT of the lineup. The Browns are far, far better on the ground when he is not carrying the ball.

keys to the game- control the clock. quinn keep doing your thing, limit turnovers, win in the rushing game. the chiefs secondary is horrible! quinn take advantage make big plays. Is cribbs going to line up at running back this week? is chris jennings the future? we will hopefully take another step in finding out tomorrow. defense feed off of last week. sacked big ben 8 times, they should have a field day with cassel and company.

a win for mangini certainly will help his case. he got the monkey off his back by beat the steelers which no coach as done since butch davis i belief. the browns have a legit chance to WIN OUT if they play the style of football they did last thursday night. if we lose, he better win against oakland and jacksonville to keep his job. all three games are winnable.

on holmgren i really don't think it matters if we win or lose. the only thing that is gonna matter is if we lose will he fire mangini? everybody knows he has his mind made up. i bet we find out before thursday. if he does accept the job he brings a huge positive for this team looking forward.

As far as the game goes, The Browns win by applying pressure and forcing TOs, as stated above. Looking forward to watching Jennings run the ball. I've liked what I've seen of him so far.
