And people thought we were paranoid when we said that the TSA was just the tip of the slippery slope.

http://gizmodo.com/5923980/the-secret-government-laser-that-instantly-knows-everything-about-you
Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away. From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you. And without you knowing it.
Anyone want to come on here and honestly say that the federal government isn't working on this, that they would NEVER EVER try to completely take away all privacy from their citizens? Anyone honestly think these will be confined to the borders and airports only? Give it another 5-10 years and these will be as prevalent around the country as CCTV are in the UK.
The small, inconspicuous machine is attached to a computer running a program that will show the information in real time, from trace amounts of cocaine on your dollar bills to gunpowder residue on your shoes. Forget trying to sneak a bottle of water past security—they will be able to tell what you had for breakfast in an instant while you're walking down the hallway.
Yeah, I know I'm a tin foil hat wearing paranoid idiot. Of course our ever loving government would never do anything so egregious.

Either way, I agree with you. The government will stick their nose in our business as far as we let them.

Flying back from Orlando last summer, the regualr metal detector noticed a metal snap on the pocket of my cargo shorts, so I had the full body scan. When I got home I had a note inside my checked luggage that the TSA went through that bag as well. I am about the farthest thing from a terrorist but still set of a red flag with my cargo shorts apparently.

the problem with this is.....the sensor would be going off every second since there are traces of drugs all over dollar bills etc. so obviously the sensitivity of this machine will be way scaled back.
Formed in Montreal in 2009 by PhDs with specialties in lasers and fiber optics, Genia Photonics has 30 patents on this technology, claiming incredible biomedical and industrial applications—from identifying individual cancer cells in a real-time scan of a patient, to detecting trace amounts of harmful chemicals in sensitive manufacturing processes.
well atleast you will be getting a medical exam everytime you walk through the airport, darn Obamacare!
