Someone got my card and set up an ITunes account. Luckily they only got me for about $100 so far and hoping that is it. I have done/had: Visa shut down/replaced, national credit fraud alert, fraud itunes account shut down, my account passwords changed/visa removed, bank/emial account passwords changed, police report, the bank refunding all charges. The scarey thing is that the account was set up with all my info with name, address, visa so I don't know what the hell else they have. So frustrating. Anything else on top of listed above I need to do ASAP?

Same thing happened to me last week. I got a call from my bank about a big purchase in South Africa. Canceled the card, had a replacement sent, changed passwords, etc. The big thing is setting up the fraud alert with the credit bureaus and then staying on top of things for awhile.

Thought you were strictly cash fab?
Somehow I've been fortunate enough to avoid any identity theft/credit fraud. I use my cc for everything.

Ouch. So are you on the hook for the charges? With mine, everything was immediately covered by the credit card company, so I don't have any exposure beyond the hassle.Fab1b;1224476 wrote:I am its a Visa Check Card sorry not credit

Someone got a hold of my card information without stealing my card once. I didn't realize at the time that there are magnetic devices that someone can hold even a couple inches away from your card that can essentially give them access to enough info to make purchases on the web. Made sense, since I'd been in an airport right about the time it started. It was nuts.

Just this last weekend, capital one called me to inform me there were some suspicious activity on my card. Turns out some dipshit somehow charged 1750 at an organic store in florida and 20 bucks at a Macaroni Grill in Florida. They have given my credit back, and are investigating these charges. Not sure how this guy pulled it off, because I still have my card and they weren't online purchases.
