COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Hazmat crews are on the scene of a fire that started when a train derailed in north Columbus.
Firefighters were called to the area near the Ohio State Fairgrounds at about 2:05 a.m.
UPDATE: Officials say a southbound train with two locomotives and 98 freight cars (1 was empty) of mixed freight derailed between E. 11th and E. 5th avenues. Eleven cars have derailed. It is not known just how many train cars caught fire. At least two are still burning as of 5:15 a.m. Norfolk Southern is working with emergency personnel to determine what cargo is on fire.

I'm stunned these people are even that close to the accident. You would think that the authorities would have evacuated the surrounding areas pending confirmation of the type of fire by Hazmat teams.

I believe they cleared a 1 mile radius, then shrunk it to a 1/2 mile when they figured out what it was (denatured alcohol). That was probably taken right after it happened, authorities can't clear an area in an instant. Although, there are people out of Grandview saying that they thought it was coming from the track by 315, that's how big this thing was.

610 also said they had calls from as far away as Centerburg overnight asking what the glow in the sky was.

Talk about a guy who is LOADED!

His property is absolutely ridiculous. He likes to have his name everywhere...you definitely know when something is RJ's.
