Why did you wait this long?

Procrastination mainly. Woke up today and basically kicked myself in the ass and got to it.

Growing up on a small farm I had a spring fed (former) gravel pit, which was around 20-40 feet deep across the bottom.
Also was a stocked pay-pond in the 70's. Was full of monster large mouth bass. Could also catch palm sized blue gill all day.

IMO- A clean stocked farm pond wins over a pool.

I dig swimming in clean ponds. My ex's grandparents have a pretty nice pond and we used to swim there almost daily for 3 or 4 summers.

I hate the muck at the bottom of a pond, and the way it feels on your feet. Give me a country creek!

I enjoy a nice creek as well ETB. There's one about a mile from my parent's house that I used to swim in quite frequently.

True to that. Worse for me was diving about 10 feet down and swimming through the tall "sea grass" only to come face to face with a cat fish at least a few feet long.

Nearly ran out of oxygen on my "sprint" back to the surface...phew.

Had one, but tore it down last spring. What a pain in the ass that thing was.

I manage a pool at the apartment my wife and lived in at college.
I think that when I decide that having a pool at our house was not going to happen.
I have grandkids now and little more time to for a pool … Have been thinking about getting one so the family could all enjoy it. The money to put one in, fencing and daily operational cost is a financial burden I don’t need right now…

Alway a nice idea, can be lots of enjoyment for all but at the end of the day there is work to be done and in the morning more work to be completed with no help....
