I think the only way that teh reds lose this one is if Cueto is too amped up to show LaRussa how badly he fucked up and just starts over throwing and walking guys.

Lol....hard to read on IPhone...but basically in the 27 games Stubbs have played and the Reds LOST, Stubbs is 11/98 with 1 double (only XB hit) and just 2 runs and 2 RBI!
He is also hitting .154 with runners on base and an OPS of .455

No doubt this Reds team is better without Stubbs and Rolen.

Agree 100% about Rolen. His career is pretty much over and all he is doing right now on this roster is hindering Frazier's developement because DB keeps playing him.se-alum;1217919 wrote:No doubt this Reds team is better without Stubbs and Rolen.
I am not ready to give up on Stubbs. WHen he does hit this team is very, very good. I was patient with Bailey the last few years and he is really starting to come upon the scene and I will give Stubbs a bit more time as well....even tho he frustrates the hell outta me.

1718 career plate appearances.....2 years ago he was a .770 OPS
He's .659 this year....way under .700 last year

Stubbs is my favorite player, but he has been awful. Still think the Reds need him to be good if they're going to do anything, but he has not progressed at the plate at all.

Who exactly would the Reds be better with in Center? I know that Stubbs is not a great player, but there are no other options.se-alum;1217919 wrote:No doubt this Reds team is better without Stubbs and Rolen.

Carpenter is having season ending surgery. Wonder what he'll tell his kid?
And yes, in 5 years I will still be using that line.

No options long term but no one could be worse right now. For him to start every game and bat a top the order is just silly. Sit his butt 3/10 games.

This is the 3 hit game we've been waiting for from Stubbs. Book it.
Reds lose 6-5

Ump missed the call on the BP DP ball and gave him 1st base!

The replay sided with the ump way more than I thought it would.

I agree with that, but will you admit he was still wrong?Ironman92;1218178 wrote:The replay sided with the ump way more than I thought it would.

Will Mattingly PH down 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th with Capuano having 98 pitches and due to lead-off?

Abreu gets a game tying single on a two out full count pitch down the middle that was supposed to be on the low outside corner. I think he was going to get a hit to LF anyway if the pitch was where it was supposed to be. With two bases open after the balk, I think I'd have gone after the hiogh inside corner again and see if the ump would call it, and if not go at the next batter, Rivera.

Come on Stubbs! With your .220 BA, please bunt with Cozart on first and one out! We'll take BP up after Votto walks with 2 out and Cozart on 2nd. That is the same situation that produced the only Reds run of the night so far!

Heisey is better offensively and defensively. He was hitting around .300 when Stubbs was out and he was playing regularly. He's the best we have until Hamilton works his way through the system.slcoach;1217984 wrote:Who exactly would the Reds be better with in Center? If Stubbs starts tomorrow I'm gonna be pissed. It's seriously impossible to be as bad as he is right now.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't. Barring injury he starts 160 games.
