Anybody have any experience with Dish Network. Any problems with them? I'm considering signing up with them. I've decided I'm done with Comcast, no cable or internet in for the last 4 days, and their service tech guy just called me at 1:15 for today's 11-1 appointment window, after I had taken a long lunch to be there during their timeframe.
If it wasn't for Sports (especially College Football and College Basketball), I could do without cable, so if anybody as any reliable alternatives to watching sports post those as well...

I really cant say much I have had trouble with direct tv and time warner cable. I hate when storms come the direct tv would always go out so I will keep the cable until I find something better.

Dish is good, but so far I like DirecTV so much better (have only had DTV for about 3 months, had Dish for 5 years).

DTV's new dishes are 'powered' through the wire in your house, so it 'powers through' storms now. Newer technology that I did not have with Dish. At worst you go through a pixilation for a few seconds during a bad storm, I've yet to lose total signal with DTV and their new dish.

My parents have had Dish for probably 10 years... they love it, and I loved it when I lived there. They still have it and don't have any problems.

Overpriced. All cable service is incredibly overpriced.

DirecTV is awesome. I've been with them for 3+ years. My in-laws have Dish and like it. If you watch a lot of sports...I suggest you consider DirecTV.

Dish with the Hopper >>>>>and cheaper than DirecTV

plus if you like football, but don't need to see every game, for $6 a month you can get the RedZone channel which is fantasy football heaven. On DirecTV you have to buy the whole Sunday ticket to get Red Zone...So for me its Browns, then Red Zone channel

I got DirecTV and its pretty good a lot more HD channels and pricing than Time Warner had when we switched. Goes out sometimes during a storm but only during the really bad T-storms, and not for long maybe five or ten minutes if that.

I must not have the dish jmog has so maybe I need an upgrade.

Dish is dropping AMC in like 4 days or something. So no Breaking Bad. That would be a deal breaker for me.

No Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, or Mad Men... I don't watch much of anything outside of sports, but those are 3 shows I love.

I'm thinking about getting direct tv(If my apartment allows it). They have really good deals right now for $30 a month for 2 years. I'm assuming after this 2 year deal is over it goes up to normal price?

Once you add HD and packages worth a shit you're close to 100 a month

this - but i'm bundled with verizon so it's not bad, my triple play is about 115 a month for tv, phone, and internet. Plus i have free Sunday NFL ticket this year - it's worth it. My roommate went to ohio state and it also comes with big ten network.

when you sign up eheck all the fine print and contract stuff.

When I was just leaving my last job they were starting to get into selling it. At first it looked like a good deal, think it was like 40 a month for the first year, but then it jumps to like 65 the second year of teh contract. A ll of them do the same thing and try to upsell you on everything. Watch out for the free promos they give up, like free movie channels for a certain amount of time and then they start charging ya. If ya do take advantage....CALL THEM to cancell when it is up because they count of people forgetting and delaying the call..or not calling at all.

I still go with our local hometown cable company. Doesnt have all the frills of other people but the cost is right.

Make sure that when you sign up with Direct TV you are clear on the "free" NFL Sunday ticket or any other "free" offers. Tell them up front that you dont want them to automatically renew or they are going to stick them on your bill the following year.
