Is this a relative scale? Considering only physical factors?
From a height/weight/age chart, I'm in about the 30th percentile for BMI for my age, and that's because most Americans get fat. So much of appearance is (1) being in-shape, (2) dressing well, (3) having cool hair, and (4) having good teeth. These are mostly advantages that accrue to rich, white people, which is why you can tell a real difference being in, say, a good suburb of a large city versus being in BFE parts of Ohio.
Because I'm a rich, white guy, every year that passes, I look better, comparatively, than proles my age.
