Definitely had the play of the night in the NBA. Just picked Arenas with about 5 seconds left to basically close the game out--made both FT's too. That'll be on his highlight tape for ever.
How good is this kid though?
Also the Wizards have now lost 6 straight by 4 points or less which ties an NBA record. Can't say I'm upset with that.

Tyreke Evans = ROY. No questions asked. Posting 20/5/5...
He's going to be great...
Sad that he plays on the west coast though, because Jennings is getting all the rookie pub. Not that Jennings doesn't deserve it, but Tyreke plays like a NBA vet. In fact, He's putting up rookie #'s not seen since LeBron did it.. He's one of 4 rookies to ever average at least 20/5/5, along with LeBron, the Big O, and I think Magic?

They aren't playing with their best player right now but the ESPN guys wondered how Martin would fit in when he came back. He is a ball dominator but since he went out, Evans has been dominating the ball and team has played great(compared to last season and early part of this season). JVG was right-if Evans finds a jump shot, look out.

Dude is like 6'6'' 230 at the PG spot...
That is a mismatch EVERY night...

This was my favorite guy coming out of the draft. I know some will be mad that I put these two in the same sentence right now, but, Evans reminded me of a mini poor man's LeBron. A bigger than expected guy at his position that can do a lot of things quite well-- score in general, get to the basket, rebound, pass, etc.

Brandon Jennings might have something to say about the ROY. And to think the NBA adds John Wall next year, the NBA has some great young talent at the PG position.

^No way. Evans is the clear ROY right now. The only thing you can say about Jennings is he hasn't played with Redd and he's had to carry his team--well, Evans hasn't played with Martin much either. It's not even close.
jpake--if anyone gets mad at that comment they're stupid. He reminds me a lot of LeBron too, same sort of stats thus far as a rookie as well. Different positions but like you said, same freakish size for their position, both are crazy athletic and great all around players. This kid's going to be a star. He's already started his career highlight tape--picking a guy like Arenas' pocket in crunch time like that to seal a game is a play that almost no rookie in the history of the league could have made.

If you watched the game last night, you would have thought LeBron shrunk a couple inches and was playing for Sacramento.
He bullied Arenas to the hole a plethora of times. He rebounds well and is a pretty good playmaker.

He's a special player, will continue to get better. After watching this NBA season, I will eat my crow. This draft class is more impressive than I thought it would be at this stage. That being said... the #1 pick still hasn't played.

The young PG's in the NBA are ridiculous. The NBA continues to improve at a vast rate in terms of talent. Seriously, it seems EVERY team has a legit player on the roster now...
Even the bottom feeders Minny and NJ have all star caliber players... Al Jefferson and Devin Harris.

Oh no doubt, that's why I kept it plural...
You could throw in Johnny Flynn for Minny as well as a blossoming rookie...

Milwaukee isn't exactly the center of media hype either.LTrain23 wrote: Sad that he plays on the west coast though, because Jennings is getting all the rookie pub. Not that Jennings doesn't deserve it, but Tyreke plays like a NBA vet.
And there's DEFINITELY an argument for Jennings. How is 20-5-5 any more impressive than 21-4-6?

Evans is a guy who never should have played in college. He may not have been ready last year, but his game is just suited for the NBA and he is showing it. People called him a ball hog (and they were probably right) last year, but in the NBA his game just works.

I agree with the Lebron comparisons as well. Just so much bigger than everyone else at his position, and uses his size as a strength, as he should.
On the bottom feeders having talent, and not to change the subject, but that's why I think Lebron considers leaving. Even if he goes to New Jersey, he teams up with Lopez and Harris and maybe another free agent and a high draft pick and you all of a sudden have a team with a very bright future. And a team that instantly is better than the Cavs because the Cavs are then left with Mo Williams and who else?

^Don't forget, this offseason LeBron isn't the only free agent--that's been part of the plan all along too. It's about more than just signing LeBron for the Cavs.
As far as the rookie class goes--Rubio hasn't played yet either.

Doesn't matter. Doesn't mean he won't be good just because you aren't high on him--point I'm making is (in response to jpake's comments about Griffin), this rookie class is putting on a show and 2 lottery picks haven't even stepped on the court.

Oh it most definitely does mean he won't be good.
But point is dually noted.

How is ROY not even close? He averages more rebounds than Jennings but less Assists and they average about the same amount of points. And their teams pretty much have identical records.

It just isn't. Evans is on a different level as of right now. He's a better defender too, that's helping his cause as well. I'm not saying Jennings isn't sick because he is.
