My wife and I love the show. Some of the humor is downright absurd which is great for me.
Who watched last night? I wasn't kind of surprised with the character development of Sue at the end of the show. I am not sure if I actually liked it.

I like the show too, especially since it takes place in my hometown!
I wasn't surprised at all about Sue and I actually like the angle. I do not like the teacher's wife, however.

The fiancee and I both really like this show as well. I dig the dry humor style and she likes the singing and dancing....ok so do I. Haven't watched last nights yet.

I love the show too.
I'm not sure what I think about the Sue Sylvester turn either, but I think I like it. It rounds her character our more, in my opinion. Jane Lynch is terrific and the character is hysterical, but at times, it can be too caricature. I just think no one can be that cold-hearted and nasty in all aspects of her life. It seems they are setting her nastiness up as a way for her to deal with the pain in her life (the reporter who dumps her, her down syndrome sister). She seems to be developing into a character that no one in the show likes, but someone the audience ends up rooting for, in spite over her overt nastiness. (Reminds me of Dr. Kelso in Scrubs).
BUT, I love any episode that doesn't have Shue's stupid wife in it.
If the show gets the ax, it will be because they keep trying to play the "Mrs. Shue has a secret baby and really just adopts it from Quinn." That is the most absurd, unrealistic, and just stupid story line I've seen on TV in a long time (Ok, maybe not a long time. But watching it play out downright offends me).
Also, how good has Mike O'Malley been as the gay kid's dad? I've always like O'Malley, but he's showing some depth I've never seen him exhibit previously.
Some really terrific stuff going on in Glee (especially the music).

I agree about Shue's wife - I've even seen where critics have said she could be the downfall of the show. She is just not well-liked. Even with all of Sue's nastiness, at least she has funny lines. But Shue's wife is just annoying and a little evil.
I liked that she wasn't on last night's episode. I was hoping they were getting rid of her, but I saw her in previews for next week. Boo.

I am a fan of the show. I was pissed when it was off for a few weeks b/c of the stupid World Series.
I call them stupid because I'm a Reds fan. I don't even know what playoffs are anymore.

I don't think the show gets the axe at the end of the season. It has pretty good ratings for a show of its type and is VERY popular in the target age group whether it be through viewing it in its time slot, on Hulu, downloads, etc. The soundtrack is also a HUGE seller on iTunes and whatnot from what I've heard.
I agree about the baby storyline...it's stupid. I don't think (ok, I hope) it doesn't last too much longer. Although I do think it'll come out that she's not pregnant and then him and the guidance counselor get together.
Jane Lynch is amazing. She's one of those people that can make anything funny. I think this show is very good...different than anything on TV right now. They are a few things about it and their portrayal of Lima that agitate me because they aren't realistic but, in the end, I like it a lot.

Will's wife is annoying, she is my least fav character..I can't wait til the baby news come to light, maybe she will get booted! And I was very surprised to see Mike's character being the gay kids dad! I was expecting some feminine snobby guy to be his dad! I haven't watched last night's episode, but will probably watch it tonight! I watched the CMA's instead!

Yeah, Jane Lynch is one of the better comedic actresses around. I can't think of a role that she hasn't been great in.

I'm a fan as well! I think minus the spontaneous breaking into song in the hallway, it's a pretty good statement/satire of HS life in general.

I like it quite a bit . . . last night's was pretty good.
It's definitely something unique on TV right now, which is a good thing.
Between this show, Gary Unmarried and Modern Family, Wednesdays nights are pretty solid these days.

Shue's wife and her story line is definitely hurting the show (most on here agreed with my initial assessment), but I'm not sure the guidance counselor is much of a step up. She plays the victim constantly and her voice grates on the ears. I don't find her that much more interesting than Mrs. Shue.
I hope that baby stuff comes out sooner rather than later. Mostly because I abhor that story line, but I'm also interested to see Rachel and Finn jump into a courtship with both feet. Right now, it's just harmless h.s. flirtation - Jim and Pam Lite. I'd like to see the stakes raised a little bit between those two.
Jane Lynch is hands down the best part of the show (outside of the musical numbers). Her dark, dry humor is what allows all the musical numbers and silly high school story lines play out as a musical satire instead of a goofball Disney musical.
I don't see Glee getting the axe either. Mostly, because they are the most unique show on television, they have been able to tap into some outside revenue (hello Itunes) and they have been able to tap into the American Idol-esque demographic that is fascinated by musical performance.
However, I wouldn't count all my chickens yet. It wasn't that long ago Hugh Jackman's musical dramedy, Viva Laughlin (or something to that effect) was canceled after one episode. Musicals can be a fickle type of entertainment - Move it too far one direction and you could lose your whole audience. Move it the other way and it could become a timeless piece of entertainment (I'm considering theatrical musicals, but it's the same idea).
I'm really interested to see how it plays out. Hopefully, Fox doesn't blow it like it like they did with Arrested Development.
