Car repair question

I have an 06 Ford Taurus, and none of my 4 car windows will move at all. I'm assuming it's some sort of issue with the wiring, but I have no idea where to even start looking for problems or what the appearance of faulty wires may be (if that can even be detected).

Any ideas where I should start? I've been looking at some car repair forums online but I'll take any advice I can get.

Yeah...I would check your fuses if all don't move and this happened at once.

My guess is fuse. Or you have the windows locked LOL

The fuses were recently replaced, so it cannot be from that.

Im guessing it's your master window switch. Pretty common problem at our Chrysler dealership with all makes. Check that. Usually those aren't that pricey

When it was replaced means nothing really. Wouldn't hurt to check it.

It can still be a fuse. A short somewhere causing your fuse to pop maybe?

Yeah, if you 'just replaced a fuse' that probably means something took out a fuse already. Unless you fixed that problem, it will keep blowing fuses. That's why they're fuses.

Its either the master switch on the drivers door panel (it has all 4 of the window control switches on it) or its the window regulators/motors. I own a couple glass businesses and we fix many of these, although the Taurus is not a car that is notorious for either problem. Take it to your local INDEPENDENT auto glass facility to have them checked.

It sounds like many of you are saying its the master switch, would that cause the other window buttons on each door to not work either? (none of them are working)

There isn't anything to look into. Chances are you locked all of your windows. Should be a button right near your window buttons.

I wish it was my window lock, that was the first thing I checked. They stopped working a few months ago, a blown fuse was replaced, and then they stopped working again.

If thats the case then its probably a fuse again...BUT there is something causing that fuse to blow. Fuses are cheap to replace if you dont want to get the wiring looked at.

yea..IF the fuse fixed it, and it stopped working again, a fuse is blown. But the root of the problem is deeper..need to find whatever is causing the fuse to blow.
