Conan has been doing his show in Chicago this week, and this was one of the bits. I have been laughing so hard at this. I've always wanted to go to this place when I was in Chicago...but have never been. I think I'm going to make the trip the next time I'm in town.
Triumph's joke about tips made me laugh pretty hard. So did Brayer joining in on screaming at the customers at the end.

I used to be a late-night regular there in school. I always tipped them just waving my hand and saying "throw it in the college fund" (yeah, I was a drunk ass).
A few other times came in with a big, long disorderly line. Just chaotic. No one knew how to order. So from about 5 people deep I yell "Hey, Tootie, give me a fucking char dog and cheese fries". Then people just look at me in amazement as my order came up.
Yeah, I called her "Tootie" (from facts of life). We had nicknames for all of them. There was a Shirley (from What's Happening)... Some mexican guy who never talked we called "Quiet Man". A white guy there occassionaly was a manager/owner had red hair and glasses we always called him Danny Ainge - even the workers started calling him Danny Ainge (supposedly he didn't like it, but there was a pretty strong resemblance).
For halloween one year I came in dressed up in my pimp costume and they all just died. Free food that night.

It's definitely a place to see if you are in Chicago. But note this is only the late night crowd - like after 1AM. Any other time of day it's extremely tame in comparison, bordering on just another run-of-the-mill hot dog joint.
That shtick is only for the late-night drunks, so if you go some other time of day expecting this you will be disappointed.
