wife and I = 2 flip phones

$47 (me) + $18 (her, still on her families share plan) = $65/mo.

boom.

I'm about the only 26-year-old I know rocking the flip phone, but I made the decision to hold off as long as possible and throw that extra $60/mo into an IRA rather than a cell phone data plan.

I work in front of a pc all day, get home and have a laptop and tablet within 10 feet, so I'm fine with being disconnected from the internet for my 20 minute drive.

To many people pay for unlimited data. The dude at Verizon told me that like 96% of people use less than 1GB.

For the longest time verizon basically offered 250 MB for like $15 to $20, or unlimited for $30.

I'm usually in the 750MB to 1 GB range, but it's still more cost effective to have unlimited than to pay 500MB in overages at a per MB rate
