I do believe I am up to 45. I drove a truck for awhile so that helped getting to some of them. I traveled the country for a year which also aided in getting to see them.
states I have not been to
Hawaii
Alaska
Rhode Island
Connecticut
Massachusetts
Visited:
Indiana
Michigan
Iowa
New York
Vermont
New Hampshire
Maine
Rhode Island
Connecticut
New Jersey
Delaware
Maryland
Virginia
West Virginia
North Carolina
Georgia
Florida
Alabama
Kentucky
Tennessee
Arkansas
Texas
Colorado
Utah
Arizona
Washington
California
Alaska
So 34 total.

30 for me.
Should have made a selection of just 50 in the pole so we could see who the overachievers are.

Good idea, also meant to include 57 as an option in case the POTUS is online.

All but Alaska and the northern plains, so no SD, ND, Montana, Wyoming or Idaho. So I guess that leaves 44 I've been to, or 51 by Obama's count.

Depends on what you mean by "in"? I once landed in St Louis to change planes, but didn't spend any time there.
So states that I have really been "in" is Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennesse, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Florida, and Illinois.

Good point. I had a layover in Texas on the way to and from Arizona and a layover in Utah on the way to and from San Fran but I didn't count it.

If I counted correctly, 26. I'm not counting states I've flown over...if so, that would be like 32ish.

33 for me. I counted all states in which I was outside the airport.
It'd be 36 if I counted those states that I just had layovers in (TX, GA, Missouri)

I probably have the lowest total.
1. Ohio
2. Kentucky
3. West Virginia
4. Tennessee
5. Virginia
6. North Carolina
7. South Carolina
8. Georgia (for about an hour)
9. Maryland (for about 6 hours)
10. Indiana (about 16 hours)
That is all.
