What are your thoughts on the subject, do you think it is possible? Whether you believe in it or not, you have to admit it is an interesting subject. Who or what do you think you were in a previous life or what will you return as. You could look at your dog and wonder if it had a pass life of a person who was spoiled rotten or maybe a homeless guy who is just grateful for a place to sleep. Maybe you were a rich and famous person who was reincarnated to live as an average person who has to suffer by living everyday wondering how you are going to pay your bills as punishment for the way you treated people in your previous life. Could that bird you see outside your house everyday be a previous owner that passed away and just wants to come home.

It certainly is possible. Not very realistic, but when you have people believing in things far crazier and irrational, why not? Good luck having anyone prove you wrong.

I do not completely discount it. Deja Vu is the strangest feeling ever. We only use a fraction of the power our brain is capable of, and there are so many things around us, that we cant even conceive is happening. It leads us into that whole....why are we here....our state of consciousness. We are SO aware of everything that happens as humans. It is almost like we cant believe it can just end and that is IT.

The thing is, we cant GRASP the fact we wont know....until it happens. Mortality is life's greatest mystery.

I'm not sure anyone 'believes' in reincarnation in the sense as it is described above. That is a common misconception of Buddist thought.

What you are describing is called transmigration.

Reincarnation is a lot more believable than some story about a spiritual dude who had a bunch of followers and was crucified.

LOL @ the people who say "religion is so unbelievable" but then say "reincarnation is more believable."

The real debate is, we either have a "soul" or we don't. It's either lights out or not. No one knows. We all will, unless it's lights out.

Because either option is an irrational belief in which you have to have "faith" in something we have no proof exists.

People get so pissed off with religion, it's almost as repulsive as bible thumpers. "There's no way God exists, but there's a ghost in my basement man..." It's that type of belief, it's hypocritical.

Does god have something to do with ghosts? I dont believe in god but I am sure I have witnessed a ghost. Whether it be cause I was tired or some other reason I dont know.

I don't believe in either.

Hope this helps.

I would say, no we don't have a soul.

This. We can all believe whatever we want, but no one knows. And just like that other thread, I believe we are only capable of comprehending very little of what may actually be.

Justin's mind will be blown.

Perhaps, although the evidence is mounting that the "dude" existed (what he was is a different story).

Just want to stop in and remind everyone to keep it civil. You can disagree with someone without attacking their views.

As for me, no, I don't believe in reincarnation. Possible? Sure. Likely? I don't think so.

Some believers in reincarnation think that we come back each time as a lower life form. Sad to say that means for many of you, this is your last trip. :D

Then the idea of reincarnation is illogical. Something has to pass from body to body.

It's the debate of afterlife I'm comparing. When push comes to shove we have an afterlife (whatever it is), in which you would have to have a "soul" to enter or it's lights out. So I was laughing at people who say "no way, there is no God," but are saying that there for sure or potentially could be some other form of afterlife. So you are 1 person I'm laughing at.

I'm more apt to believe in a higher power than a ghost. That's just me though.

I agree. I don't think reincarnation is true, it has never been proven true, and it never will be.

You said "It certainly is possible." But yet you have said numerous times that there is no way, zero chance, that God exists. Just pointing that out.

Whoa. I don't discount the possibility, I doubt the likelihood, especially enough to dedicate my entire life to that belief system. People that do are irrational, but I can't talk about this subject because someone will get their panties in a bunch and I will be thread banned.

Only on the OC...
