Doctors at the Comer Children’s hospital said the girl, now 17, had been starved for a considerable period of time.


When Darlene was brought to hospital she weighed only 23 lbs – just over one and a half stone - the typical weight of a two or three-year-old child.

Absolutely disgusting. Parents are meant to care for their children. This woman grossly failed in that responsibility. This is worse than murder. What life this child may have had with proper care and attention is now gone.

Until society starts looking at women in a different light, 18 months! We have a hard time seeing women as evil and incapable of physical harm. 18 months probation, something wrong there.
