It is being reported he signed a short talent deal from January to right after Wrestlemania. If this is the case and he ends up being the guest host on January 4th in Dayton, I am for sure going. One of my all time favorites.

I knew hed be back in some kind of way with wrestling, he really does love it and I know he mentions in his book how much he has missed it. He is one of the few guys I can say got completely screwed and it seemed his family just couldnt catch any breaks in the buisness and all of his family trying to live off his success.

Loved watching him wrestle. How did he get completely screwed? He is one of the few guys who Vince McMahon allowed to parlay little charisma/great technical work into a stellar career. Then he started taking himself too seriously.

I wonder how he's doing physically and in what capacity he can work. Didn't he have a stroke a few years ago?

"As we reported just moments ago, Bret Hart has signed a short term talent deal with WWE that will go into effect on January 1st, 2010.

At this time, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Hart is expected to debut with the company as the special guest host of Raw on January 4th, which of course goes head-to-head with TNA Impact that night.

Additionally, it's being said that Hart's talent deal does not expire until April 10th, 2010, and it is expected that Hart's work with WWE will not be limited to just one appearance as Raw's guest host. In fact, there is talk at this time of Bret possibly wrestling one more match, but that is simply speculation at the moment and nothing has been confirmed."

I wondered about that when they mentioned him on Raw. I guess Bret finally realized that "Bret screwed Bret". That or he needs some quick cash.

I did read in his book that Bret and Vince did stay in contact even after the whole screwjob and Owen dying, it seems that Vince always had a soft spot for Bret even after the Montreal job. You dont see wrestlers like Bret anymore, he was old school and tough no doubt.

I don't think Bret is able to wrestle due to the stroke he had years back. I could see him maybe being a ref or something like that for a big matchup at WM.

Like Shawn Michaels versus the Undertaker? Then we can see yet another failed rendition of the "screwjob".

Did Hell just Freeze?

I honestly cannot believe this!

I am happy that he has finally gotten to the point where he work with them on camera again.

The perfect ending to this would be to have him screw the Undertaker at Wrestlemania and have it be that the Montreal thing was a total work.

I'm curious to see how this works. With Triple H and HBK being the big shots on Raw. If he is in fact the host of Raw on the 4th, I won't be checking out TNA.

I dont watch wrestling anymore, but recall vividly the Montreal screwjob. Any good writer for the WWE will certainly be able to put together a great story line with this & Michaels. But didnt Bret suffer a stroke? Last time I seen him, which was years ago, it was difficult to watch and listen to him.

Bret won't be wrestling at all. He said on his DVD and his book that due to the stroke he couldn't wrestle even if he wanted to. Special Ref maybe but he will not wrestle. I doubt he would screw Undertaker as that would not make sense whatsoever. Would make much more sense if he ended up being the ref or at ringside for a potential HHH-HBK match at Mania. That would be interesting.

Great news!

I don't see him taking any bumps but I figure he'll give a few.

Randy Orton will end up in a Sharpshooter after he's beaten down by the rest of Legacy and Davey Boy's boy.

Everyone probably would but they have to accept that it can't happen.

HBK can still go the distance in hour long matches even though nobody thought he'd return from his injuries when he was out for several years.

Hopefully Bret has recovered from his stroke for the most part and can surprise in the same fashion.

Vince and Bret have been at least cordial-cool for a few years now. Not BFF's or anything, but not antagonistic. Bret still hates Shawn, though. I believe when he was inducted to the hall of fame, he said that he would no-show if HBK was around.

That might be why DX got the tag belts. They can be on every show now, so to induce Bret to show up, they gave them the belts so they won't be at RAW (except possibly a pre-taped scene) and just do the SD tapings (or ECW, because those two new guys compared beating them in the new video game to beating random jobbers.....Baretta and Croft are due to get jobbed hardcore soon since they have no gimmick other than being dumb jerks with a vaguely humorously cocky way of acting).

So basically all this means is that you can pretty much write the script for Wrestlemania already?

Heretic - While Bret may still hate Shawn, there is no way WWE keeps 2 of it's biggest faces off of Raw because Bret may be there. They can build a huge amount of tension between those 3 and people will love it.

Given the length of the contract, I expect the WWE to build up the tension between HBK and Brett. If this occurs, expect an HBK heel turn very soon. We will see HBK taunt Hart every week and get in his face. We will see the inner termoil as Brett will want to fight HBK but knows he has physcial limitations. In the end, Brett will decide to give it a go and we will get the match at Wrestlemania.
