Fun race thus far. Good amount of racing in the lead pack.
Marco looks to be strong now. Still early though.
I'm not a huge fan of the new car. I think the rear looks ugly and not like an open-wheel car.

Franchitti is strong since being punted in the first pit stop. #50 Target

Wow, what a crash and crazy turn of events for Conway. He rode the wall sideways.
First the pit stop, now the crash.

Yeah, that is a major safety hazard. I know for F-1, the tyres/ tires have to be tethered to the chassis and usually can stay attached on high impact.ts1227;1182770 wrote:Dude was about 2 feet from getting his head taken off
Both Conway's and Power's tire came off.
Two or three years ago, in F-1 we saw what can happen when something comes off the car and hits a driver. Ferarri's Felipe Massa had a piece of a car in front of him fall off, come straight at him, and hit him the helmet. It knocked him out, and he crashed into a wall. It took him out of racing for a month or so.
Crazy stuff.

Nearly 20 to go and I have no idea who will win this. Target cars are fast, but Sato and Wilson are fast too.

This reminds me of old school Indy racing, of Texas, or Michigan, where each lap has a new leader.
Wow, the curse continues. Andretti into the wall.

J Wilson was on Mike Shank's winning Rolex24 team w/ Dinger. I didn't know Sonny's was sponsoring a car.
TK is a restart beast. Oh and there goes Andretti. It was obvious listening to Marco, he is not mature or skilled enough.

Yeah, way too emotional in the car.
But, unless something crazy happens, which can happen, no American will win again. Bell is the best American, in 10th.

Marco looked good earlier in the race. Thought he had a good chance today but that Andretti curse always seems to get them
Really hoping TK can win this

Ohhhh Sato.
He had it if he just laid off that corner. He would have had him in the final lap.
But, Dario wins again. Wow. Target gets 1-2.

It looked like the tether broke on Conway's. Power had a front tire hanging on by a tether, and the one rolling had the broken tether hanging on it.

I thought he went too early. He didn't need to get him in turn 1. If hi did he might have been passed later in the lap.ptown_trojans_1;1182815 wrote:Ohhhh Sato.

It was a good race. New record for lead changes. No bad injuries. Susie stayed for today, and I saw her giving Dario a hug, then riding in the convertible with Dario & Ashley for the winner's interview. It was great, I think it looked like Ashley spontaneously asked her to come along. Everyone wanted to win to dedicate this race to Dan Wheldon.

Can remember when it wasnt even shown live and had to watch it that evening. I am not a racing guy but I like to watch the Indy 500. Only got to see the singing of back home again, the start, and then the very ending crash.

I love the Indy 500, but get pissed off at all the fucking commercials. It gets nearly unbearable around the middle 100 laps when it seems they'll come back from a commercial and go to another one two laps later. You'll be seeing stuff happening on-screen and be yelling to "GET BACK TO THE FUCKING RACE YOU FUCKS!!!!!" and 60 seconds later...they will.
