She should be fired, and I would say this if some Mississippian 'people of Walmart' looking teacher had done the same thing but regarding Bush when he was President.

as a teacher i would never give my opinion about religion or politics. i always say talk to your parents about that. a few times over the years a few students have cornered me and wouldnt drop it and really wanted to know what i beleived and i would tell them but i would also say that it is just my opinion and i have know idea if it is right or wrong and again they should speak to your parents about it. this is disgraceful by this teacher. I also never answer the questions about have you ever smoked weed done drugs? etc.

Spouting her opinions is one thing, but to lie and teach students that it is illegal to criticize the president is treasonous.

eh.....this only demonstrates and verifies the following points:

1. Our public school system is failing.
2. The teacher is ignorant, racist and a hypocrite.
3. Obama supporters know he's in trouble.

you are going to use a school in the south with a bad teacher to take a shot at public schools? Like this couldnt have happened at a private school or charter school? FAIL

I agree, it's north carolina. In some parts of the state if you have a pulse you can teach.

It can happen at any school. If it happened at a private school that teacher would have been walked out the door with their final paycheck in hand.

Good geometry example. Angles are very important in assassinations.

three things we have learned from your posts

1. You have a bias against public schools
2. You are a one trick pony
3. No private or Charter schools provide due process for their employees.

1. Biased? Hmmmm. I hope I am not but I will strongly evaluate whether I am or not and if so try and work on it.

2. O.K. I guess I'll recognize your conclusion of that.

3. Due process can and sometimes is defined and carried out very differently in the private sector when compared to the public sector...especially in an "At Will" State. would you agree with that statement?

sure sometimes and many times...but to imply that all private schools would have walked him out with is pay check in hand with no due process is not true or accurate. maybe "some" would. maybe "some" wouldnt. further more if i showed this article to 1000 people and said what are three conclusions you get from this article...less than 1 percent probably would make their number one answer that this shows that our public school system is failing. could you agree with that?

I would agree with that.

Have you seen me state anywhere or even imply that our public schools are failing??

I don't think this is an indication at all that our public schools are failing.

The implication that the teacher would be walked out due to such a rant was more of a sentiment of mine....maybe even a hopefulness if such an event happened at my kids' schools.

I don't think she should be fired based solely on that, but I think administration needs to talk to her and let her know that she was wrong. I hesitate to say anyone should be fired based upon 9 minutes of a recording of him/her.
