*Teixeira
The Indians could afford about 7 days of his contract.
Brian Cashman would laugh you out of the league.

If the Yankees agreed to pay a portion of his salary, yes in a heartbeat. However, I don't see that happening at all.

He's due over 110 million on his contract. How much you think the Yanks are picking up for Chris Freaking Perez?

We'll give you Votto for Johnny Damon, and we'll pay both contracts

110 million over how many years? And it's not at all unusual for a team like New York to huff the major portion of a contract.chicago510;1173631 wrote:*Teixeira

If Rpbertson..or whatever his name is struggles, I would not be surprised to see this develop...depending where the tribe is come early August.
The same trade talk could develop with Boston for Gonzales as well...depending on where the 2 teams stand in early August.

Show me the last time New York ate a 9 figure contract.Footwedge;1173653 wrote:110 million over how many years? And it's not at all unusual for a team like New York to huff the major portion of a contract.

And no team is trading their star 1B for a mediocre closer.
Quit huffing glue.

Tribe would have to throw in about 5 top level prospects for that trade to make sense.
On what planet does 1B = reliever in terms of value to the team?!

No we never will. Mark Teixeira=between 3-6 WAR in his career. Chris Perez 0-2.5 WAR. Derp.Footwedge;1173662 wrote:I don't know Sherlock...maybe we'll fuckin find out, eh Slick?

What you are saying is up there with your percentile logic on the idiocy meter.

LOL. Let me get this straight. Tex is hitting a whopping 234 with a mediocre 5 home runs. The tribe would be offering a closer that is either 1, 2, or 3 in saves...and percentage of conversions. Now who exactly is getting ripped off here?chicago510;1173656 wrote:Show me the last time New York ate a 9 figure contract.

If I was the tribe, right now I'd tell Cashman to fuck off...and keep our closer. But I might change my mind come late July.

Given your history around here, I'd be really careful in criticizing anyone regarding trade value, just sayin.SportsAndLady;1173673 wrote:We will never, ever find out. Because it won't happen.

Tex has 4 years left on his contract after this year. If he doesn't start producing, they would be happy to dump half of his salary for a good closer...especially since he's hitting more like LaPorta each and every day.

You have to be kidding me. Unless is Mariano freaking Rivera, no closer is EVER getting trading for a 1B who hits and fields like MT does.Footwedge;1173676 wrote:LOL. Let me get this straight. Sure he is off to a slow start, but he does that every year. Closer saves is about the worst stat in baseball.

What difference does it make? But yes, it was brought up on Chuck's show. Chuck thought..as I do....bad trade for the tribe..even if the Yanks ate a pile of the contract.Enforcer;1173689 wrote:Did You make this trade up, or Did You hear it mentioned somewhere?

Can't spell player's name right? Check.
Suggest completely unrealistic trade? Check.
Cite useless stats like saves and batting average? Check.
I'm sure we can add a few more to this, if we just keep going.

Thinks Yanks will eat $100 mil to get a middling closer....check.Mooney44Cards;1173704 wrote:Can't spell player's name right? Check.

LOL. For one minute...remove your lips from Tex's talleywhacker. The man has hit a paultry 251 over the past 2 years. Yes, he popped out 31 HR's on average per year, but that was in Yankee stadium, where I would hit at least 20 dingers over the right field fence.chicago510;1173693 wrote:You have to be kidding me. His OPS was .850, but thats naming a stat that actually matters.Footwedge;1173722 wrote:LOL. For one minute...remove your lips from Tex's talleywhacker.
