I should have probably noticed, but this forum has been such a mess with some of these idiots that I only read the cleveland sports threads and the random movie news...that is pretty much it.

The problem is our trolls don't even know how to properly troll. They are just annoying assholes.

An example of a proper troll thread. On a local car forum, a guy comes on and says that his car will beat any other car in the state of Ohio. It's a Lambo that is currently sitting on jackstands with no engine in it. He has already chalked up future races as wins.

The thread is just over a week old and has 900 replies. He has posted in the thread 5 times. People are FLIPPING out. THAT is how you troll.

Eh, it's the "trolling" that we've let slide for too long in regards to other people and now it's being used on you.

It's the same as when people were constantly calling CC a pedo.

It's the same as people constantly calling Gibby "Gibwok" or posting the photos.

It's the same as a people constantly referring to me as C4F/Cry4Fun.

It's repetitive behavior that has nothing to do with the conversation that is designed to try to be either A) Funny or B) get under someone's skin. Most of the time it's the latter.

This is kind of what I was talking about on the other thread when I said that "[w]e have to have a rule that just gets people banned to basement if they just troll posters (just attack posters instead of adding to discussion)."

It's one thing if someone says something in a thread and you give them a little grief over that comment in that thread. It's another when it keeps being brought up again and again whether or not it is relevant and whether or not that poster is even posting in that thread.

Problem is it has gotten to the point that
1. They are bringing my family into it, which does piss me off.
2. People are PMing me asking for advice because they think Sleeper is being serious.

I agree that it is a problem. It's something that was let go originally because it was people that deserved lots of shit that it was being done to. But now it is just the status quo. With regards to my moniker, I am not particularly affected by it. And I mostly just ignore any post that uses it. I will respond to the poster later if they stop using it and try to actually have a discussion.

But that behavior brings absolutely nothing constructive to the table and I think we need to figure out a rule so we can eliminate it.

Just to be clear:

I do not mind if a person makes a slightly negative comment towards someone in a thread if it is pertinent (i.e. my sarcastic remark towards I believe it was mella about scientists using control groups, or someone calling out skyhook for being a biased fuck when he think's artests elbow was completely unintentional.).

I think it's a problem if those comments were repeated ad nauseum on other threads where they aren't relevant to either try to be funny or to get under the skin of the poster.
