Round one tonight on ESPN and NFL Network, 8pm. Separating this into its own thread, apart from the random chatter thread.
Luck and Griffin III going 1 and 2, who will go 3? Will the Vikes take Kalil, or go Claiborne? Do the Browns take Richardson, Blackmon, or someone else? How many wide receivers will the Lions draft? Will the first Al Davis-less draft see the Raiders pick the fastest possible guy again, no matter where he's pegged to go by "experts"?

I think the Raiders were planning on propping up a stuffed Al Davis ala 'Weekend at Bernie's" in their war room.

Steelers could go any direction other than Mike Adams or Jonathan Martin and I think I'd be pleased.

this draft is very important for the steelers because our cap troubles are not over we need to get guys who can contribute. that said i hope we go for oline with the first pick. adams while has had some off the field problems has good size and doesnt get hurt all the time. we need a guy who can stay healthy if any thing else. i would take hightower as well even tho we are pretty solid at lb right now. he is a 100 tackle a year type of player.Non;1153612 wrote:Steelers could go any direction other than Mike Adams or Jonathan Martin and I think I'd be pleased.

If the Browns don't draft Trich or trade rape a team, its going to be a long season next year.

Not that I'd want to help the Steelers in any way, shape or form but I'd run like Hell from Mike Adams.Gblock;1153618 wrote:this draft is very important for the steelers because our cap troubles are not over we need to get guys who can contribute. that said i hope we go for oline with the first pick. adams while has had some off the field problems has good size and doesnt get hurt all the time. we need a guy who can stay healthy if any thing else. i would take hightower as well even tho we are pretty solid at lb right now. he is a 100 tackle a year type of player.

I don't think either of those tackles are much of an upgrade from Marcus Gilbert who we took in the second round last year.Gblock;1153618 wrote:this draft is very important for the steelers because our cap troubles are not over we need to get guys who can contribute. that said i hope we go for oline with the first pick. adams while has had some off the field problems has good size and doesnt get hurt all the time. we need a guy who can stay healthy if any thing else. i would take hightower as well even tho we are pretty solid at lb right now. he is a 100 tackle a year type of player.
If we go Oline I'd rather look at DeCastro (LG in a trade up), Cordy Glenn (T/G versatility) or Kevin Zeitler (LG).

Hoping the Packers can get a good OLB to go opposite Matthews in the first round. I'd be happy with either McClellin or Upshaw if they were available (really like McClellin and think he'd fit like a glove in the system)

i doubt if he even lasts that long anyway...same with hightower. it will probably be cordy glenn from georgia or zettler from wisconsin.BR1986FB;1153624 wrote:Not that I'd want to help the Steelers in any way, shape or form but I'd run like Hell from Mike Adams.

Ross Tucker (Sirius XM NFL Radio) had the Pack taking Mercilus and converting him to OLB.gorocks99;1153649 wrote:Hoping the Packers can get a good OLB to go opposite Matthews in the first round. I'd be happy with either McClellin or Upshaw if they were available.

He might fall to the 2nd. He's (Adams) not that good. Kind of a boom or bust type of player. Which with Pittsburgh's history of hitting on early picks I'd think they'd want to steer clear of.Gblock;1153654 wrote:i doubt if he even lasts that long anyway...same with hightower. it will probably be cordy glenn from georgia or zettler from wisconsin.

Not as enamored with Mercilus but I could see it happening.

And in tribute to his style of making picks, they'll spin a wheel with 50 random player names on it and pick the one it rests on. Even if he was projected to be an undrafted free agent.BR1986FB;1153567 wrote:I think the Raiders were planning on propping up a stuffed Al Davis ala 'Weekend at Bernie's" in their war room.

I'm already preparing for a top 5 pick next year as well. Trich is the highest impact player, but man we need WR's and a competent QB before we can even be somewhat competitive. I won't get into the defense, I don't think its that terrible but definitely could use some help(like a high impact LB).BR1986FB;1153627 wrote:LOL...I'll rep you for that one.

Just saw where the Patriots are interested in trading up to #12 with the Seahawks. That's kind of out of character for Belichick. Wonder who they want?

Maybe they think Barron won't fall past that. They need defensive help and picking the consensus #1 safety in the draft would be a good start. I'd imagine if it comes to the Seahawks time and Barron is still there they'll think long and hard about pulling the trigger.
