Does anyone own one and use it? Can anyone recommend a good one that isn't too expensive?

I have other questions if anyone can answer them.

There's an app for that - also why do you need one?

I've had a few apps. They all either only get the big cities and or stop working. I have a great app now for Columbus, but it doesn't cover the other small Ohio towns I frequent.

Valiant effort, but that's not CA at all. You need to study his posts better.

Why what else do people use them for? Like for robbing banks or committing other crimes? I'm 40 with my own business with two kids under 3. I dont have time to be a criminal.

I have a Radio Shacker one myself, works great. Only listen occassionally but it's fun and comes in handy when the escapees from the federal Pen are on the loose.

I remember those days when I lived in Warren and worked in Youngstown. The max security place then we had the TCC not far away in Warren Twp. At my moms in Warren is one place I'm getting it for.

Ok, thanks for posting. That is the exact list on my iPad scanner app, but it's missing Warren PD, Medina PD which were a couple I was looking for.

I'm assuming because they don't stream online, whereas all the others on the list obviously do. So, if I get a handheld Ill be able to get those not streamed, right?

Most places now are on Digital system, which drives the prices of scanners up. Some are on MARCS system which is an even higher price. For a home model, to pick up most cities, you are looking a 200-300 bucks at the very minimum. Phone apps are free, and usually on just about a 30 sec delay.
