Is there a problem with wanting to continue to hold a record thats very difficult to break?

Every person who holds a record that I have viewed being interviewed has always said it would be great for someone to break the record and that they would congratualte person or team.

Everyone except for Morris, I don't understand why he is so adamant against other teams breaking the record. Its like its the only thing he is known for.

There is a problem with coming out and public rooting against guys that are playing the same game that made you who you are.

The record will never be "broken" anyways--teams will just be added to the list. They'll always be the first.

He was part of something special with a group of friends and he wants to have that distinction of being the ONLY group to have done it. It makes it that much more special, that it's only happened once. I can't fault him.

He was a pro athlete. By nature, he thrived on competition. It's not suprising that it's still his tendency.

Since when does everyone have to root for everyone else in sports? There's nothing wrong with wanting your place in sports history.

In cancer reasearch, I want people to work as hard as they can, yet wish to be outdone. In sports, it's alright to want the accolades of you and your teamates to be distinguished.

If I were Shula and Morris, I'd just ignore all the undefeated stuff now. New England did it, its old news. I just hate that now Morris has amended the rules and now says that being "in his backyard" means winning all the playoff games too
