I'm working with a friend to procure 4 new tires for my car. She works for a tire company and is able to get me a nice discount. Supposedly, these are the only offerings they have for my car...
  • 205 / 60R16 MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4 RRBL 92V
    • QTY 4 * Unit Price $146.00 = Ext price $584.00
  • 205 / 60R16 KUMHO ECSTA LX PLATINUM XL BM 96V
    • QTY 4 * Unit Price $103.00 = Ext price $412.00
  • P205 / 60R16 MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER A / S BW 91 V
    • QTY 4 * Unit Price $157.00 = Ext price $628.00
  • P205 / 60R16 BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL400-02 BW 91V
    • QTY 4 * Unit Price $117.00 = Ext price $468.00
Those prices are not her discounted prices, but what they list [apparently].

I know jack about tires... so my questions are...
  1. Are these good tires?
  2. Which do you suggest/prefer?
  3. Setting her employee discount aside, what are your thoughts on the prices? About accurate?
Again... I know jack about tires, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure how much of a discount you are really getting.

If I'm reading correctly, the KUMHO ECSTA LX PLATINUM XL BM 96V has the best load rating.
96 rating=1565lbs./710kg

The Ecsta LX Platinum (KU27) is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed to meet the needs of sporty coupe and luxury performance sedan drivers. It is designed to blend responsive handling, long wear and a quiet ride with year-round traction including in light snow.

Kumho molds their advanced all-season tread compound into the Ecsta LX Platinum radial's asymmetric tread design where three different types of sipes are used to enhance all-season traction. Outboard shoulder and intermediate tread block sipes terminate in stress relief dimples to help the sipe openings blend straight-line snow traction with lateral grip. Straight sipes are used for the middle blocks while waffle design sipes are used on the inboard intermediate and shoulder tread blocks to blend dry-road stability with all-season traction. The internal structure of Ecsta LX Platinum tires feature twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon cord on top of a polyester cord carcass to combine high-speed durability with ride quality.

The Michelin Energy Saver markets itself for fuel efficiency.
"most fuel-efficient All-Season Passenger car tire developed for the drivers of hybrid and fuel-efficient passenger cars that want to exploit their vehicle’s fuel economy without abandoning dry, wet and wintertime traction."

The other two choices just seem like basic tires, nothing really standing out.

imo- I'd go with Kumho.

I'd go with

My wife had the Kumho's on her crossover for about 5,000 miles before we junked them. Traction in the rain and snow was almost non-existent. Don't know anything about the other tires

When my dad and I used to have Mustang GTs we always used Kumhos on them. I feel like they are a great performance tire, but I was really disappointed with their all seasons.

BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL400

I have these on my car. They have lasted 50,000+ miles with no problems

I never used those - but i agree they're great for sports cars. I had those, Toyos or Yokos on my mitsubishi depending on the prices.

Not on your list of tires but (pretty sure) my brother put Hankook Optimo All-Season Tires on his Subaru Forester. Believe Kumho's came with the car and they were not very good.
The Hankooks may have slightly more road noise then what came stock, but handling and traction is better.

Saw on a review for the price, the Hankook Optimo all-season was one of the tops.
