I thought Macs didn't get viruses but then I read this:

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9225862/Fast_growing_Flashback_botnet_includes_over_600_000_Macs_experts_say?taxonomyId=12

Should I buy a new Mac? Will it affect me? Please advise.

As people have been saying for years... it's not that Mac's are that much superior that they can't get viruses. It was just there was a lot less of them so it didn't make sense for hackers to write viruses for them. Now that they are becoming more common place, Mac's can expect to start getting them as they will be targeted.

They are superior I've had a Mac for 9 years and it still runs like new but the Dell I bought yesterday exploded and killed my dogs.

I get it. You're really Michael Vick looking for a valid excuse for your activities which you never really stopped doing after getting out of jail. You sly rascal, you!

If you get a virus, trojan, etc, you're a dumbass no matter what type of computer you're using.

Or you just like porn. A lot of porn. All the time.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Except for the viruses.

Wrong. A lot of viruses (including this one) use Java to inject their payload. Malicious ads are usually the culprit.

The ads could be on simple websites such as Facebook. It only takes one malicious ad uploaded to Doubleclick and then you've got your code on a ton of websites.

I always laugh at the people on FaceBook who get hit with viruses and their wall is plastered with spam posts.

"On Tuesday, Apple released a Java update in order to address a critical vulnerability that's being exploited to infect Mac computers with the Flashback Trojan horse."

Java isn't Adobe.

A lot of people like Apple because of it's marketing for the ignorant. Serious computer nerds will always stick to pc's, which are not proprietary.
