According to.the FBI crime statistics whites commit the majority of crimes against whites as well as the majority of crimes against blacks are by blacks. I've posted the actual data and links before I do it later when I'm at my home computer.

Not surprising. Most people commit crime close to home and, well, most neighborhoods are predominantly white, black, hispanic or what have you.

A good question about the press conferences and protesting going on because of this incident, why have Sharpton and the New Black Panthers not threatened or harassed the Hispanics ( Mexicans) considering Zimmerman is Hispanic? I think they realize that if they piss off one of the Mexican cartels with their bullshit, they would find themselves executed in the streets with their head chopped off.

Don't preface your own questions with "a good question" when they suck. It's misleading.

Is this one death really any more senseless or heinous than the hundreds of other murders across the US this past month? If a woman gets raped and killed - ehhh, a few of those happen every week across the country. Now if it's a child, much different story.

This is awful and Zimmerman should get the max (assuming he's guilty, which he's guilty of something but not entirely sure "prejudice" equates to a hate crime). But it's really kind of sickening the way everything is such a big deal, especially the grandstanding (including one POTUS). Maybe it's about the injustice, and I can go along with that (although it may be more of a case of a bad law). But what irritates me, and I think others, is every time something like this happens (about once a year) it just seems like people are waiting to throw this in our face. For what purpose, I'm not sure. Yeah, there's racism and hate crimes and discrimination. And there always will be, of all kinds of all people.

I feel like it's very counter-productive to always focus on the negative. I can't help but imagine that - white or black - that this isn't healthy. A) I don't like the way some have to always be a victim. I don't see how that's beneficial to anyone. B) It creates animosity. We make a lot of progress but you don't hear about that much, and then an incident like this and it feels like we've accomplished nothing.

You've got a bad law and a guy who should be in jail. Why does race have to be such a big issue on this? People get killed every day for far more random shit and no one goes looting stores or proclaiming national hoodie day. Just saying that if I wanted to take on senseless violence, hate crimes would be pretty far down the list if you're going by severity and frequency.

I honestly don't care anymore. I had an opinion last week, but by now who cares. Witnesses are going to continue to come out of the woodwork and offer contradicting accounts. Each night CNN will offer up some irrelevant news story like "WITNESS ACCOUNT: SHOOTER WAS A-POS BLOOD TYPE BUT HAD AB-NEG BLOOD ON SHOELACES" trying to keep it current. They need to bring Zimmerman in and settle it one way or another. And IF/WHEN he's found innocent, Martin's parents need to shut up.

Already addressed it in #359 but you were too busy asking me if I was retarded to stop, read, and respond. You claimed the dispatcher told him not to follow, but he kept on anyways. When really, the reports are he stopped his pursuit, then went back to his car, and that's where the altercation happened. So who's the ignorant one not reading anything and just forming their own opinion? Oh you also claimed that if he called the police to let them handle it, there wouldn't be a problem. So you're basically saying he shouldn't have ignored the dispatcher (which he didn't) and instead called the police so they could handle it (which he did). It's Zimmerman's fault for "stalking" the kid, no blame should go to Martin for, oh I don't know, starting a fight.
