I live in Alabama now (born and raised in Ohio) but when I see a person in Ohio at OSU heckle the POTUS ,I love it! At least the first guy. The second guy says "block the pipeline" he is obviously a plant from Wisconsin and an uninformed "tree huggin' hippe" type.

Sorry, you do not heckle thr President. It is disrespectful to the Office. Does not happen if it is Obama or Bush.
Have a gripe, fine, make it known in other areas. But, the proper thing is to not yell out or be rude at the President.
It is a matter of manners and good taste.

To me, it is one example of how civility has been lost in the political discourse arena.

No, plus the guy looks like an asshole.

There are other, more productive, and more persuasive ways. It is all about substance, delivery, and using your analytical skills. All of that is lost in today's political context.

You could make it known Paul Ryan's way . . . and get accused of throwing Grandma off the cliff.

You could make it known the way anyone who opposes the HHS mandate on contraceptives has done . . . and get accused of waging war on women.

You could make it known the way Scott Walker has done in Wisconsin . . . and get accused of assaulting teachers, students, policemen, firefighters, and all working families in general.

Civil debate went out the window a long time ago. Maybe heckling is the only way to go now.

Logic,reasoning,respect,the constitution,,civil debate and the list goes on has been out of the picture for a while now. I don't know if shouting down,heckling ,or what ever else is the answer but something has got to give. The ignorance (lack of knowing) has got to end. Come on man! The health care law was passed with out even knowing its contents! Really?
Even if it's off collar to heckle the POTUS it took guts. And guts is enough.(Ermy FMJ) At least someone spoke up.
The act got us talking and thinking and hopefully it will get others doing the same and inspire the apothetic to get with the program and VOTE in an informed way.

It didn't take guts, it was a classic example of stupidity. Guts would be better defined by working within the system to make a difference, to change those things you don't agree with. It takes a coward to heckle, because a coward takes the easy way out.

And the only thing worse than being a coward is to admire the ways of a coward, much like you just showed us.

Disrespectful to the office? Is the president of the United States a god among men? Our pharaoah? Royalty? He is supposed to be the head of the executive branch of the federal government, which means I shouldn't even need to know or care who he is, because he should have no direct control over my life.

No but you should respect the person in office regardless of what you think of them. If you see them you should be respectful.

This is the correct response. When you go to see a speaker, you don't interrupt them unless prompted by the speaker.

I agree. The general difference here is that this guy was not paid to be disruptive, whereas with the leftists their rent-a-mobs are paid to be disruptive at many republican events on behalf of activists/agitators such as the President.

Like it or not, the prez cannot on the one hand advocate for mob-like activism, and then on the other hand expect to be treated with decorum. He sets the tone, and as usual, he has failed.

Presidents and leaders have always been heckled....I don't know why this is any different. For myself, I extend courtesy for the office, but those are my standards. I dress properly for funerals and weddings too. For others, no such standards exist or they are just not important to them.
Here is a July 4th speech by then President Bush welcoming a group of peole who had newly received their citizenship. Hecklers took this occasion to interrupt..and continued attempting to disrupt the ceremony. GWB comes up with a great line...

I agree that if you go to see a speaker you should behave yourself, whether it is the president or a bum off the street. The office of the president has nothing to do with that. Hell, presidents these days deserve less respect than street bums. At least the bums aren't stealing from me.

My post was tongue-in-cheek; it's beyond stupid to heckle and I would never do it. My point was that recent attempts at logic, reasoning, and civil debate have elicited responses that are anything but civil.
