Lots of MAC teams in the CIT. I believe BGSU is playing at Oakland, Toledo and Kent will also be in it.

Kent at SC Upstate, Toledo opponent TBA.

Buffalo may end up in it or CBI too.

I'm surprised Mississippi State accepted a bid. Stuff is going to hit the fan in Starkville...

I really would have enjoyed watching Weber State and Lillard. The NIT itself, to me, is more about just watching the best players who didn't make the NCAAs, rather than about the matchups and "road to New York." There have been some really good players in the tournament in recent years. The Quincy Douby Taking of MSG in 2004 stands as one of my favorites, in which the freshman Douby netted 35 points and six deep threes in a Rutgers victory over Jake Sullivan and Iowa State in the NIT semis.

This year I will follow Northwestern in hopes that John Shurna, the Wildcat Wonder, can close his career on the same stirring note that Douby began his. Shurna was outstanding in the first half against Minnesota. The distances of some of those shots he was taking just weren't fair. The referees should have made him put on a blindfold. An exciting talent that would have been great to watch in the Big Dance.

Missing? Or just declining the invite?

I would guess missing. I don't know why you would turn down the NIT to play in the CIT.

Didn't notice them in the CIT, never mind.

Yeah that makes no sense.

Considering they don't have a coach, yeah that would probably be a good assumption lol.

They said they wouldn't play in the CBI or CIT. Not sure if they turned down the NIT or just weren't invited.

Surprised Arizona accepted a bid to the NIT. I believe Sean Miller declined a bid with Xavier in 2005, the year following the Musketeers' run to the Elite Eight under Matta. Maybe I'm misremembering, though, and X wasn't invited.

In terms of Ohio teams, Akron and Dayton sent packing in the NIT, and Cleveland St. tips off at 11. Toledo advances in the CIT.

At least there are upsets in these brackets. The NCAA tournament has infuriated me to no end.

Northwestern is going to win the NIT.

And then act like it just won the NCAA's.
