What are some of the best guides to get and where to look? I remember getting them at stores like Walmart and such, but they don't seem to sell them anymore. I've checked at Borders before and they don't have a great selection.

It depends on what sport and what years.

I've got some good cards in football, basketball, and baseball. I have a lot of Walter Payton cards from the last 70's, and I've got older baseball cards from the 70's as well.

I think that at Walmart, you can buy a price guide with millions of cards priced in it. Also in it is a CD with even more card prices. I do not know the name of it though.
Sports Card Monthly (formerly Tuff Stuff) and Beckett do not deal much with older cards. Beckett does make books pricing just one sport, but they are more expensive than the one listing all prices. Beckett used to make a book for each sport that paid more attention to the older cards of that sport, but I have not seen it for a long time.

Is there a local card shop near you?
If so, then they should be available there.

I have seen them at Kroger's once, but Walmart or a card shop are your best bets to find one.
If you want, you can pm the card#'s, years, and brands, and I can give you a price.

If you get a Beckett, make sure it's the 10.00 Plus version or whatever for that sport to avoid not even seeing your set listed.

Do they make the plus version anymore?Chesapeake wrote: If you get a Beckett, make sure it's the 10.00 Plus version or whatever for that sport to avoid not even seeing your set listed.
I was trying to remember what that version was called earlier.
If they do make it and you can find it, this is definitely the one to get.
