What's the nicest course in Columbus that's close to Easton? I have a conference at the Hilton this summer and we're looking at golf courses close that are nice. The way we drink, the closer the better for transportation reasons.

as well as airport, but that isn't nice I don't think.
You can also see if you can find a high roller to get you into Columbus CC

Is Champions nice? I know it's a Muni. I'm not opposed to Muni's if they're nice.

Not so nice part of town, but I know some decently wealthy people who play there.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1097858 wrote:Is Champions nice? I know it's a Muni. I'm not opposed to Muni's if they're nice.
You might be able to see if you can get into little turtle too

I've played Winding Hollows in New Albany. It's a nice course and about 8 miles away. Is there a nicer one that's closer?

Champions is like 18-20 bucks and is pretty difficult. Its not pebble, but its not trash. Location would be super convenient for you.

Played at North Star in the D2 State Title a few years back and highly recommend it. Definitely has a nice championship feel to it and mixes between a links feel and a more woodsy one

I like North Star but the trek to Sunbury is further than we'd want.Classyposter58;1097882 wrote:Played at North Star in the D2 State Title a few years back and highly recommend it. Definitely has a nice championship feel to it and mixes between a links feel and a more woodsy one

Champions is the nicest of the munis. Not sure what else is in that area but don't consider Airport at all.
How big of a group would play? If it isn't a huge number, take a cab and play Cooks.

Airport is one of my favorites, but it's closed for the next 2ish years.

I didn't know that. Because of the airport expansion?wildcats20;1097897 wrote:Airport is one of my favorites, but it's closed for the next 2ish years.

OT, but does anyone know what it costs to become a member at MVGC? I had a friend tell me it required a sponsor and 6 figure annual fee. I thought that was nuts, but they probably have members from across the country.

Champions is nice for a muni, but I would recommend Winding Hollow. In recent years it has been called East GC and Tartan East, but I heard that it has gone back to it's old name, Winding Hollow. It is probably 10-15 minutes from Easton, and is a very nice course.
Little Turtle is another possibility. It is private, but I have heard that they have been allowing non-members to play if they aren't busy. It is only 5 minutes from Easton.

The Hilton there is nice. I met Rampage Jackson when I stayed there last year for State Wrestling/the Arnold.
