You happen to hear why?

Supposedly his great grandmother died.

You know what? I don't know Felipe Martinez. But I do remember my great Grandma and Grandpa. My great grandpa was from Madeira, Portugal and I would watch him make bleach in a big vat in his garage in erie penn.. He always offered to pay me a dime to help him when I was five...I never did, I always said "no way!, I need more than that!" I wish I had. My great grandma would always talk smack in portuguese about the wait staff and other customers...but we never told her everyone else spoke portuguese as well! I think about them often and it has been 20 years since they passed. I would give three state titles up to spend a day with them. Prayers to Martinez and his family.

I heard he also didnt make weight. I know a death can have a big impact on the situation so not taking away from anything hes done. hope he keeps his head up and goes on to college and does just as good.

Stinks he was able to wrestle for Sectionals then not Districts because of a death in the family.

Enough with the baseless accusations, just talk about the topic at hand.

He just have a very tight knit family, because I was surprised that a great grandmother would have caused him to pull out. But every family is different, and you can just wish him the best in this sad moment in his life.

While his great-grandmother may have died, that isn't why he was scratched. He was scratched because he didn't make weight. Now he may not have made weight based on his relative's passing, but the reason he isn't wrestling is that he didn't make weight.
