Yao Ming lasted about nine years in the NBA, half of which were plague with injuries. Y. Ming averaged over 20 ppg three years in the NBA.

Jeremy Lin is the latest big news in the NBA. Who knows what his final career numbers will be like.

Who do you pick- J. Lin or Y. Ming?

Yao was really freaking good. Just couldnt stay healthy. Lin wont ever be as good as Yao, but his size may keep him in the league (and actually playing) a lot longer.

Not to mention the off court influence Yao had.

Yao could have become one of the all-timers at center if he had had the longevity. Lin has played 10 games.

Yao is only 32, which is insane. He could have had 6 more years.

Yao by far. Its not even a good comparison. They don't even have similar backgrounds. How do you compare a Chinese icon that opened up the NBA game to Asia, to an American who has had a good run in the NBA for 10 games?

Maybe we should change the poll to Lin vs. Oden since they've played a similar amount of games.

I should of added "could J Lin end up having a better career then Y Ming" or some comment not comparing their NBA careers so far. I realize J Lin has only played about a dozen games.

Everyone is making such a big deal of J Lin. Think I heard he's been on the cover of SI two times in a row? I wonder if Yao Ming was ever on the two covers in a row.

We know about Y Ming's injuries. Possibly J Lin becomes a Steve Nash/Jason Kidd type of guard? Has a long career?

Play along people.......derp.

Yao was a top 2/3 player at his position, Jeremy Lin will never be that imo

I agree. Too bad Lin showed his worse last evening. Big drop off for points vs. turnovers.
