Looks like John Lackey is headed to Boston.

He'll fit somewhere in the 1-2-3 with Lester and Beckett. Good pickup to try and keep pace with the Yanks.

That said, Boston needs to make a move for a bat, especially with the Bay situation not looking rosy at this point and Lowell off to Texas. More often than not, the bats were the reason the team didn't make any noise last year.

Red Sox are still way behind the Yanks. I hate both teams.

That blows for my Mets ... hopefully they take that money and put it toward Matt Holliday, who I prefer over Jason Bay. Honestly, I doubt we get either. Another long year in Flushing ...

This is why I hate Boston. They're just like the Yankees. They just aren't as good at it.

I would argue they've been better at it than the Yankees have for the past 7 years, on the whole.

Possibly but not definitely.

2003: Yankees AL champs, beat Boston in ALCS
2004: Boston WS champs, beat Yankees in ALCS
2005: Both lose in 1st round of the playoffs
2006: Yankees lose in 1st round, Boston doesn't reach playoffs
2007: Boston wins WS, Yankees lose in 1st round
2008: Boston loses in ALCS, Yankees miss playoffs
2009: Yankees win WS, Boston loses in 1st round

Division titles: New York 5, Boston 1
World Series appearances: New York 2, Boston 2
World Series wins: Boston 2, New York 1

I'd say it's pretty close. 7 years is a random number to go back though. If you go through the entire 2000s the Yankees win easily.

They both suck anyways though :)
