Islamophobia,we flagellate ourselves about supposed mistreatment of Muslims in western nations. People opposing putting a Muslim Mosque next to 9/11 site. Many European nations banning face covering garments. But who is really under attack? In one Muslim nation after another pogroms against Christians with the acquiescence or active support of their governments. And it is largely ignored by the Christian majority nations.

But, I have been to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, and never felt scared to be considered a Christian.

There is no equivalency. They are killing Chrisitians in Nigeria, Egypt,Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia,
Death penalty for converting to Christianity in several Muslim coutries, Mass extermination of Christians in the Sudan, mass murders by Muslims of Christians even in Christian countries of Ethiopia and Phillippines.

In certain parts of the world, it is not safe being a Christian at all. There are in fact extremists from Islam that pervert their teachings.
The author of the article is somewhat biased in her presentation, but the subject matter should in fact be recogbized for what it is.
For example, the Boko Ratan group in Nigeria do not only attack Christians. Far from it. They want to overthrow the government and put in place Sharia law. As with any coupe attempt, mass murder takes place.
Whereby an outsider would find these attacks disgusting, let's remember our own history.

One time I forged my mom's signature on a little note to get out of school one day. It was a christian school. What does a perverted teacher want with the founder of Islam? Once an old pervert tried to lure me with candy when I was a child. That is your opinion....an opinion I don't share at all. I am very sad to say....that there is also a similar small minority of my fellow Christians..who under tribal conditions, would commit the same atrocities.
Let me add this though...I strongly disagree with IWP regarding the substance of your OP. I think it's a subject worth discussing...even though the author is a renowned biased reporter against all things Islam.

There is a difference from the get go between Islam and Christianity or Budhism. We do not see the founders of these religions having men assassinated, using ethnic cleansing or genocide. The only difference between Islam and Christianity is one religion likes to blow themselves up and the other likes little children to get raped. Wait, they both have done both of those. Also, the title of this thread is misleading. It doesn't sound very global. Seems to be isolated in one area of the world. I say leave them alone and let them kill each other off over there. I'll sit right here and watch them do it to themselves.
