When is it?

I'm trying to book a flight to Vegas with a few friends. We were going to book 2 days ago when flights were $260 roundtrip. We look back today and it's almost $400. We waited a couple of days to see if a couple of friends that were dragging their feet were going to join. Is it safe to assume prices will come back down? We are trying to book for mid May.

I've always heard that the lowest prices on sites like travelocity can be found on Tuesday evenings. I have found this to be true in the past as well.

Shop around.

Allegiant does nice flights to Vegas out of select airports. As do other smaller, lesser known airlines: Jet Blue, AirTran, etc.

Kayak.com is a good comparison site.

I've always heard Tuesdays were the best day to book, but I've never noticed any truth to that.

Ever since I've discovered Bing travel it's all I've used. Just set up an alert and you're set. The price predictor is legit. I use kayak.com also and compare.

I just checked out Bing for the first time, but I think I like Kayak better. The flexible search did not work for the cities I wanted to fly to, and the price predictor was not available either. (Those seemed like cool features, but they weren't working for me.)

Are you asking when is the best time to book a flight...or what day is the best to actually fly out?

Alot of times I end up booking directly through the airlines themselves, you'd be surprised compared to some of the travel sites.

Book around eight weeks before you fly.

Just FYI. My uncle works as a media consultant for Priceline. He said when you look at prices, it reads your IP. The more you check the higher the price will go.

I'm going for 5 days the week after the semester ends. $160 roundtrip direct from Lexington to Vegas.
